  1. This mornings protest ride after the spate of cycling accidents was declared illegal by our wonderful municipality. Another glittering example of their failure to listen to their residents and act like officials who serve their community. What a thing for the families who made the effort to attend this morning! No doubt the City thought that by sqaushing the protest now it will die down and in time people will forget! What a disgrace!
  2. Where's Stuttafords umhlanga?
  3. This whole situation is out of control! My condolances to todays victims. I hope they catch the perp and put them in jail.
  4. Thanks Mr Look will give these keos a try.
  5. Ah - thanks Mr Look - learnt something new - I have the red cleats so will need to change to yellow I guess. Who sells the Look Keo's in Durban?
  6. I am riding Shimano's but would prefer a pedal with a little float - what do you recommend or is float a bad idea on road pedals? My MTB pedals have float and I have no discomfort at all.
  7. The little I know of them has also confirmed your experience. They are great!
  8. Okay sounds great - count me in for a nice slow social ride!
  9. Whats the vote - EA 90 SLX or EA90 Aero?
  10. what is the rim profile all about?
  11. Why get these over the EA90 SLX? Whats the main difference besides weight and shape?
  12. These are the ali version - they are very nice looking!
  13. Has anyone ridden Easton EA90 SL/X wheels? They seem quite good value. How do they compare to Kyserium ES/SL - the weights appear the same? I have read that the Mavics are very stiff and you get quite a lot of feedback - is this nonsense?
  14. Thats beautiful! Anyone know the expected cost yet?

    Crankset Size

So if I had to choose between 170mm and 175mm I should choose 170mm and rather adjust the bike set up?
  16. What difference does the size of the crank make in the bike set-up ie. 170 or 172.5 or 175mm? Does it affect power or overall bike size and what is preferable or does it depend on leg size and bike size?
  17. In was just admiring your bike when I started this thread and then wham out the blue! What bad luck -I hope you are okay. Make sure his insurance company pays for the replacement of the bike as you built it.
  18. There is a race there Sat afternoon and Cyclelabs new store opening - I think the routes are closed for the race.
  19. Forget the sugarcane around Hillcrest. Giba is the place to be! 35km's of singletrack heaven and some amazing freeride areas if you are brave!

    MTB Pedals

? Ok' date=' this I don't understand. You only bought these pedals 2wks ago! Just how many times have you ridden them since then? If this is your 1st attempt at clipless pedals on a mtb, you really need to give them a bit of a chance. If you're finding the pedals to tight (difficult to unclip), then just loosen them. Not sure where on the Time pedals, but there should be a small adjuster screw on each pedal.[/quote'] There is an ajuster and I have set it on loosest setting. Maybe the cleats need to wear in a bit and it may make exit a bit easier. I am using eggbeaters now and find them much easier to get in and out of in tight spots. I have'nt given up on clipless!

    MTB Pedals

Bought Time Attac Carbon - very nice but pricey. I found a pair of eggbeaters and prefer them. They are lighter and easy to get in and out. They were good in the mud too!
  23. has anyone dealt with them?
  24. Sounds wrong - I thought 705 was about R6800? Is the Polar 725X better than than CS600 which is cycle specific and has inclinometer and power sensor option? Why would you pick Garmin over the Polar?
  25. thanks.
