  1. Okay guys... I grew up in Welkom (Dont tell anyone). So one thing I do know is how a circle works. The guy on your right has right of way... ALWAYS. When you are in the left lane, you can turn left or go straight, but you can not go 3/4 around or more. When you are in the righ-hand lane, you can go straight or 3/4 around the circle, but you can not turn left. If you are in the inside lane in the circle you turn into the righ-hand lane of the road you turn in to, if you are in the outside lane of the circle you turn into the left-hand lane of the road. If you are inside the circle you have right of way... The only time you do not is when there is this yellow diamond sign at the circle, then the road which the sign applies to has right of way... Any questions?
  2. Would have been my first Shova, but after a streak of bad luck I got the flu the week before tha race and could not take part. Was one of the most frustrating days of my life. There goes my aim for a 2h45 Shova 2008. Hopefully Shova 2009 will be a good one!
  3. If they change the emblem I will stop supporting our Team. How do you cheer for a team with a flower on their chest? Go Blommetjies? a Few more hours to go cycle now. It definitely is Apartheid in reverse. Destroy all White and especially Afrikaans. Some guy mentioned it is only the minority supporting the Bok emblem. This minority he is speaking about, would that be the whites? Perfect way of telling us we do not have a say or vote in our country. My 2c worth!
  4. Hi Guys, on the topic of insurance. Would you say it is cheaper and worth it to insure with them rather than to specify your bike on your household insurance? I lost a set of wheels on a pothole a while ago and by the afternoon I was riding with a new set... thanks to Mutual and Federal

  6. Up to six months ago my past time of choice was getting pissed and only riding three short rides a week and wondering why I felt soooo tired and messed up after races... Now my life kind of revolves around my bike, even thought it is a "cheap" bike... at least three rides during the week but closer to four and more than 200kms over the weekend. That gives me at least five days of riding in a seven day week... My bike goes with me when I go on leave... All my friends are cyclers... My social is when I go cycling... Now only if I can afford all the goodies I want. Oh and I have only been cycling for a year... Can it get worse? Whether it is called obsession or addiction... I probably have it...
  7. Morning Guys I drive a 1.4 Getz and yes I agree, it is not the most economical on fuel, but it is not the worst either. About 15km/l on open road and 12km/l city. I load my bike in my car every day within minutes, I take my front wheel off though With all the features I think it is a nice value for money car.
  8. Ouch. I guess my plans for buying my new bike with an ultegra groupset next year just changed to either not buying a bike at all and sticking to my entry-level machine, or lowering my expactations to the 105 groupset for the same price as current ultegra prices... This topic spoiled my day...
  9. One day when I am a grown-up I also want a bike like that.... Sweeet
  10. Thanks for the tips guys
  11. Hey Everyone <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am looking for some advise. I have a bike which is about 10 months old with a Shimano Sora group set on it. I have done about 4000 km on it and have never replaced the chain. So I bought a chain wear tool and now know that my chain is about 0.75% worn, but not 1.0 % yet.... At what wear should a shimano 8-speed chain be replaced. Should I replace my cassette when I replace my chain or can I get away with only replacing the chain? What chain-tool do you guys recommend? Thanks
