Thanks for all the positive feedback everyone! We appreciate it! If someone lost a phone on the route, please let me know, we found it!

The route has dried out considerably. There will be some wet spots but you should be able to get around them without trouble. There is no crossings or deep puddles on the course as we have cleared all of these today.

We're checking a working on the route today. If needed, we'll place one or two pumps along the route if you want to spray down your bike.

The sun is shining and it's a beautiful day in Robertson. Tomorrow also looking really nice.

Jip Marko, we do provide a choice this year....bottle of wine or a medal. I think the wine is the better bet! I'm biased though.....

Hi Jaco. The 57km profile attached to this events page gives you an idea of what it would be like. As mentioned, we had to tweak the route a bit so it's not exactly the same. There is an added bit with a newly built road that was done for the Epic but not used. You will be the first to ride it. The 57km will be a real tester!

Worked on the 57km yesterday. Had to reroute a section onto brand new track taking you on a section that has never been ridden before! The 57km is going to be awesome but really tough! Please only attempt if you are experienced!

Hi Jaco, The course does drain quite well and should be fine by Saturday. Should be in good condition.

Hi guys. Thanks for the comments on the early start. We'll certainly take it into consideration for next year. It's the first time that we're hosting the longer distance so we'll learn from it and improve next year!

Seems like most people are keen to hang around afterward. if the weather is dodgy we can pull everyone into the shed! We'll also make sure that there is non-alcoholic beverages for those that need to take the wheel.

For everyone looking for showers, we'll have hot ones available, like last year.

Seeing everyone's comments about not being to keen to join al the rest of the festival goers in town, I have a suggestion to run by you guys..... How would you feel if we organized some light entertainment, food and drinks for after the event? We have the venue set up already so we might as well use it. It's out of the way of the "main" festival and should be nice and relaxed. What do you think?

Hi Johny. We'll have medals this year. Think we might have people choose between a bottle of wine and a medal when they've completed the event.

Hi Ben. On the 57km we have the last 7km or so running close to the river. Unfortunately the other distances only have a short stretch along the river as it's generally quite flat near the river.

I'm working on the Google Earth map for the 57km. As soon as I have it ready I'll post it for you.

We had the Epic go over a fair bit of the route in 2012. They went over again on stage 2 this year but used much less of the route than in 2012.

Hi everyone! We are getting ready for our annual Robertson Winery Wacky Wine Weekend MTB! We are very excited to offer a 58km route for the first time this year as well as a night ride on the Friday night before the event. Looking forward to see you there!
