  1. I got given a Joplin for free because it had done what they normally do. Cost me the total of R4.00 for new seals, ATF fluid instead of fork oil ( because its thicker ) and I put half the recommended air pressure in and I have had no problems with it... so far. Other than the odd having to "burp" it if I pick up the bike by the seat when its in the down position. I can see why the crap though. There is only one little tiny rubber seal per sealing face and 70psi of pressure and the small key to keep it straight is totally rubbish . Not a quality item but it was free so I don't care. LOL As for the long travel verse shorter travel debate. I am past the age doing really stupid things on bicycles so 140mm travel is actually more than enough for anything I am going to attempt ....here's the but.... But I bought an old DH bike to go do the local racing next year anyway just for the fun of it. If not why not.....
  2. Thanks nofear i have just bought an older Morewood for what I think is a steal. PM sent as I know one other bugger who wants a bike.
  3. Thanks Nigel. Will keep a hairy eyeball out for the details then.
  4. I'm still punishing my Giant.... trying to make a plan to get a DH bike for next years season. Got a few things up my sleeve. Selling all sorts of stuff that is useless to me to put some DH funding together. And wheeling and dealing... It is that time of the year where folks are selling and buying so I'm looking at everything. Not much locally though unless I'm looking in the wrong places? A little while ago there was plenty around kzn for sale now not much in my price range anyway. And where have you been on Wednesday night rides?
  5. If there is what time does things kick off. I've been trying to find info about it but seem to have failed hence the posting on here. Would like to come check it out Cheers
  6. That very type of bike was the first bike that made me want to ride motorbikes more than live... Hahahahahahaha Seriously it was. I'd love to buy it and just park it in my lounge!
  7. I really enjoyed the Comleys day and can't wait for the next one! When is the next fun day like that?
  8. I'm still smiling after Sunday's shinanagans... What a brilliant day! I had some doubts as to the need the for another sport but that is blown out the water now! The moment my Sidewinder buggy is sold I know where to spend the money.....and I don't want pretezeled rims on my XC bike. PS does anyone want to buy my SideWinder Buggy?
  9. Now that was a brilliant day out! Thanks to all the guys who organised that. Was also my first go at proper downhill race so one big learning curve... All you guys doing those big gaps are have taken what is missing in your heads and put it in your ball bearings! I had to go early so missed prizegiving (was my wedding anniversary on sunday so had to dart back home and play house) and I would love love to know how badly my 5 inch bike did against the rest so is there anywhere to go check the results? Thanks for super day....now to get a proper bike?
