Use Castrol Chain Wax - Available at any motorcycle store. Spray on and wipe off any excess. It's synthetic, water resistant and dirt doesn't stick to it easy.

Hmm ...a bad fall or cable gets hooked in something and bang goes your suspension ? Will be interesting to see how reliable it is.

He took the shock off and it still squeaks when you compress it. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Thanks for the reply. I think he just wants something with better performance and newer tech and has read about many issues with the particular model on it currently. It's squeaking all the time too which is driving him nuts and is quite common on the current shock. I did suggest he get it serviced.

Hi Guy's, I have a friend with a 2006 Mongoose Teocali Super that has a Rock Shox MC3.1, 124/145(according to bikepedia) rear that he would like to replace. Due to its age there is not much info on it which is making it difficult to find a suitable replacement. Can anyone suggest something that would fit this model bike ? Thanks. Nelis

Thanks. Saw this review for the Cube AMS SLT on twentynineinches which is basically the same bike/frame - http://twentynineinc...sions-mid-term/ Either way, I haven't seen anything bad about it which is important. Also like the fact it's German made, which is my nationality :-)

Hmm.. that Cube AMS 29 Race ticks all the right boxes except maybe the 3x10(I prefer a 2x10) but that's not a show stopper. Thanks for the suggestion.

@karma that might be a reasonable choice, thanks. Looks a little heavy though, can't seem to find any reviews ? @splat I saw the pyga yes and read about it but that rear sus is a little too low for my liking as I enjoy the technical stuff I'm worried it will bottom out a lot with my 96kg weight. From what I heard it's quite a stiff ride too but may be mistaken. The fact that it's made locally is quite appealing to me but wish it had more travel on the rear. Thanks.

Hi People, My first post here.. I'm on a quest to find a long travel(at least 5inches) trail/all mountain 29er and live in Plumstead, Cape Town. I had my eye initially on a Giant Trance X0 but would prefer a 29er. If I can't find a suitable trail 29er I'll wait and see if Giant release a Trance in a 29 for 2013 which I've heard they most likely will. I'm 6ft 2(188cm) with lanky arms so looking for a XL and my price range is from 30 - 40k. I did a search around the forum and saw the Santa Cruz Tallboy LT which I really like. Does anyone know what these bikes go for here in SA and who would be the best people to speak to about them in my region ? Any suggestions would be grateful. Many thanks. Nelis
