  1. Thanks JSTN. I went to JP at Recycles (Durban road, Bellville). He said they can try to ask one of their suppliers about the lever and then they will have a look at why it got stuck. Will take the trainer to him next week and let you know if they were able to help. R
  2. Hi All I have a basic Blue Matic Tacx indoor trainer with a resistance control lever. The lever/resistance control got stuck and in my attempt to (mmm....forcefully ) move it, I broke the lever. Does anyone know where/if I can get a replacement lever and also where I can get the trainer serviced, so the resistance adjustment can work again? Thanks.
  3. Thanks. Will take it up with Specialized and see what they say. It just puts a bitter taste to my whole experience. One day ago I was a proud and happy owner of a really awesome bike and now I feel like I have a cheap "left-overs" bike.
  4. Just got my Marathon back from a 150h service and was surprised to see that the rear shock (and brain) was not mine when I got my bike back. When I questioned this, my LBS was told by Specialized that they just swop it out for a refurbished unit. I understand the principle of service and turn-around time, but I would really have liked to be informed (and given the option) about this before the shock went in for a service. So now a person buys a brand new bike and after 150h of riding he gets a crappy old shock back after he sends his new bike in for a service. This is absolute nonsense!! Not happy about this at all. Is there anything I can do about it....probably not. Would I buy Specialized again....probably not.
  5. Well written and amazing story! Glad that you guys survived!
  6. I haven't been to Meerendal in a while, but decided to go there on Sunday. Was really disappointed to see that all the hard work that went into the trails for the Epic was just a waste. Some sections (two or three, I think) were closed. What's the point of having them if we can't ride it? Things were much better under the Club's management.
  7. Thanks for the mention. Next time I will try to knock off a few hours on my 16h53m time! :-) Thanks to everyone involved in organising the event, especially to all the support vehicles and medics for staying around until the last of us crossed the finish line.
  8. Not sure whether website or Rider briefing is right re the boxes. I would prefer to have boxes at checkpoints 2 and 4 (at checkpoints where there is no support crew to help). Anyway, I suggest we confirm this at registration. See you guys out there on Saturday!
