  1. On Tuesday evenings , Wolwespruit track in Pretoria (see wolwespruit website for more info)
  2. Any comment on the use of BAT chain lube on mtb
  3. where did u buy them, at the race?
  4. what do I do: lost my race tec chip as well as the SAS board
  5. Old groupset was shimano and brakes where avid, brakes are much sharper. Scott spark, model i think model team?, damm am not so sure now, am on holiday now but without the bike.. The nice is that with the 3x10, u cannot use all the rear gears, with the 2x11, this is no longer a problem. Am glad i did the up grade, just wanted to hear what u guys had to say regarding the 3x10 vs 2x11. Checked the web, and it aapears to be well worth the change.
  6. Lying in bed thinking of my resent upgraded groupset, suppose i am trying to justify the cost R12000. That was brakes, full groupset, changed from 3x10 to 2x11. Was done by a well known bikeshop. It was well worth, as it runs very smoothly and i am quite impressed with the upgrade. I have a scott spark , 2012 full suspension, the cost then was approx R17000, recently i was thinking of purchasing a new bike, but what i was looking at was close to R40 to R50k.Could not justify that hence the upgraded groupset. Perhaps this is the route to go, the frame was fine, suspension still ok, just the old shimano groupset that was worrying. So after all, perhaps money well spend
  7. Just peeded off to those unconcerned riders On Saturday on the corner of Lynwood and Boschkop my son in law and myself heard a screaming dog in the reeds, I walked approx 20m into the reeds and found a scottish terrier, as I picked him up slowly he was obviously in pain, he bit me on the hand and arms. After feeling for broken bones I discovered that his hind leg was caught in a wire snare.Lunckily my son in law had a pliers (he never carriers it with him, but on Friday he put it in his bag). I eventually picked him up and took him to the patch. I cannot believe , as we were sitting with him (waiting for my daughter to fetch us) that riders passed us looked in disgust at us as we were obviously in their way, not one rider but a few passed without looking at us, a couple asked if we are ok, but with no reference to the reason for us sitting with a dog and me covered in blood all over my arms. I must thank the bunch who did stop and who were rather concerned. My wife actually also heard the dog screaming as she rode pass the area about 20 min or so before us arriving on the scene, she was actually to scrared to go into the bushes so she left the area. My groaning is to those who heard the dog screaming earlier and not even giving a damm!!!! (as many riders must have passed the dog that morning) Any case we took the dog to the vet - he was ok, he cut the wire around the dogs ankle and charge us R350 !! that is another story as to what I think of him, we then took him to the doggy parlour for a cut and wash as he was covered in mud etc. Well, he is now with us and we are looking for a good home, we have had a few enquiries but will screen the new owners first, he is very well mannered and gets on fine with my pug.
  8. It was reported on Saturday morning thAt a red Mazda bakkie reg no MRZ was parked at the gate leading to the farm ( mooiplaats side). Three perps were seen walking into the farm area. The bakkie also had a cycle rack, one suspect remained at the bakkie. I saw the bakkie parked at the gate but did not think much of it, however it was reported to the farm owners and relevant persons, whom will keep a look out. Just be aware in the area fot the bakkie, also see Pretoria East mtb side on facebook
