Looking at the specs on the Titan you would expect it to weigh lighter then what it is- must be a heavy frame!

Thanks for the research Mountaindude! Where did you get such accurate weights? Are they including pedals? Gonna go have another look at the sexy GT tonight and make my final decision. Would spend more then R10K but as everyone knows there are all the accessories still to buy too.

Yeah its a tough decision. The Titan and Silverback have the best specs. But the GT looks the hottest my opinion. Tricky as the web doesn't have many reviews of any of the bikes!

Have a look at www.shimano.com. It ranges from top to bottom in hierachy of quality. Your shifting will improve and you will lose some weight on your bike, but it will be a costly experience.

Yeah the merida isn't the hottest bike- the frame bend by the headset is strange. I ride a merida road bike and love it, so no brand bashing here.

Mulmi at my local LBS hey. Looked lekker hot in the flesh. Didn't feel to heavy either.

Ok so I have R10K to spend on much first 29er and would appreciate any opinions of the two bikes. The Titan is better specced but weighs as much as the moon, while the GT is quite a bit lighter with lower components but better fork. So I'm looking at spending R10K on a hardtail 29er and came across the Momsen AL329. The 2012 spec looks awesome value for money, but the 2013 spec is quite different in comparison. Anyone own a 2013 Momsen AL329 or have anything to say about it? Thanks guys.
