  1. I've done the Adventure for the last four years, and I'm on the waiting list!! On the lighter side, while struggling to get through, I ran a tracert to find out the server: Tracing route to entries.sani2c.co.za [196.31.218.215] over a maximum of 30 hops: 1 173 ms 178 ms 198 ms 10.17.15.12 2 * * * Request timed out. 3 * * * Request timed out. 4 * * * Request timed out. 5 * * * Request timed out. 6 * * * Request timed out. 7 * * * Request timed out. 8 * * * Request timed out. 9 * * * Request timed out. 10 * * * Request timed out. 11 * * * Request timed out. 12 116 ms 138 ms 140 ms www.iwantmystuffback.co.za [196.31.218.215] Trace complete.
  2. Just had a call from my Sani2C Adventure partner - he's been man down for the past 3 days. Close family we are - he's my brother and waits 3 days to tell me he thought he was going to die! No food consumed at the finish, but water at the last water point. No voluntary / involuntary swimming in dams / lagoons either.
  3. Yes, but we're talking full-suspension and hydraulic disk brakes, not your average development bike / give-away. Without repairs, it's unrideable.
  4. Having succumbed to the ravages of time and Sabie X, Epic, Sani2c, the old faithful is being put out to pasture and replaced with a new shiny model. The question is now what to do with the old bike? Seems daft to waste money repairing / replacing what's broken / worn-out, and doesn't make sense to hang on to it for parts as everything changes every year with each model. Is there a bike scrap yard out there?
  5. Sabie X gave me the ideal excuse for a new bike - broken brake lever, rear shock finally gave up the ghost, new tyre (cut sidewall), new brake pads (worn to the metal), BB spewing shavings of metal. Now the real question - what to do with the old bike?
  6. Tyre choice is any thing except old Larsen TT's - Kenda Karma's are my weapon of choice. PLUS Plenty of Lube.
