  1. This is a bonus having 6 SA riders in a African squad of 10. Well done to DR and DD. Can't wait to see how Keagan Girdlestone develops.
  2. What riders are in the feeder team ?
  3. Where is Mark Renshaw ? He is a better lead out man than Tyler
  4. Great result for DD It looks like Caleb is the man to beat this year Look forward to seeing Cavendish go against him at the end of the month.
  5. Amazing !! At 55 Doug Brown is still beating some of the top pro's
  6. Oakley are launching their cycling kit range sometime this year.
  7. Don't forget they now have a feeder team with a Continental License it is chosen from the 8 best under 23 talent in Africa with 4 SA riders. They will have the opportunity to prove themselves in Europe.
  8. I heard this was the training kit and the white was the racing kit. I must say this is better than the white kit,
  9. I have heard Cervelo put in money as well as bikes. Swift would be great but I doubt they could put in money as well ?
  10. I'm loosing count now ! I think it's 13 Africans and 14 international. Any body know for sure ?
  11. I Share your compliments to DD just want to point out that the feeder team will be a Continental Team not a Pro-Continental. Still an amazing experience for the up and coming young Africans ( Continental is the 3rd tear of racing in Europe )
  12. Congrats Doug ! And Thanks DD and the other sponsors !
  13. " this partnership is a perfect fit and will allow us to further invest into our development program " The feeder team will still continue and do more International races.
  14. Don't despair just yet ! I think we should wait until the DD team have heard about their WT license application.
  15. Interesting read thanks ! I'm sure with Dr Carol Austin at the head of performance it will be well monitored.
  16. DD will be riding 3 Major Tours next year. 1 rider can't do all 3 majors and expect good results In 1 tour they might concentrate on Sprints the next might be GC rider. Once the tour course is out Teams decide which rider it suits. ( Nibali will be doing Giro and Aru Tdf )Not all the signings are for a lead out train. If they get WT acceptance they will need 30+ riders. I don't think Lampre have a better team than DD. There are still 11 Africans in the squad.
  17. This article was taken from Cycling News .LM is the only African that has not extended his contract it's sad but does not mean we must not stand behind our team. It still has 11 Afrricans in it.
  18. Cycling News October 13 :Doug Ryder is understandably giddy with excitement after signing Mark Cavendish but the mere mention of Meintjes' move to Lampre is a wound that will remain open for some time. Meintjes was meant to be the poster-boy for South African cycling and under MTN stewardship he was going to progress up the ranks and develop into the team's GC leader at the Tour. It's not hyperbolic to suggest that he was being groomed as the embodiment of the team on and off the road. In August he looked set to stay with the team too and Ryder was utterly unaware of the about turn that saw former MTN manager Brent Copeland swoop in and cherry-pick Meintjes for 2016. MTN's loss is certainly Lampre's gain and the 23-year-old, who finished 10th in the Vuelta during the best season of his career to date, could develop into the signing of the season.
  19. You can't ask for more African than that 7 out of 8
