  1. Congrats Doug ! And Thanks DD and the other sponsors !
  2. " this partnership is a perfect fit and will allow us to further invest into our development program " The feeder team will still continue and do more International races.
  3. Don't despair just yet ! I think we should wait until the DD team have heard about their WT license application.
  4. Interesting read thanks ! I'm sure with Dr Carol Austin at the head of performance it will be well monitored.
  5. DD will be riding 3 Major Tours next year. 1 rider can't do all 3 majors and expect good results In 1 tour they might concentrate on Sprints the next might be GC rider. Once the tour course is out Teams decide which rider it suits. ( Nibali will be doing Giro and Aru Tdf )Not all the signings are for a lead out train. If they get WT acceptance they will need 30+ riders. I don't think Lampre have a better team than DD. There are still 11 Africans in the squad.
  6. This article was taken from Cycling News .LM is the only African that has not extended his contract it's sad but does not mean we must not stand behind our team. It still has 11 Afrricans in it.
  7. Cycling News October 13 :Doug Ryder is understandably giddy with excitement after signing Mark Cavendish but the mere mention of Meintjes' move to Lampre is a wound that will remain open for some time. Meintjes was meant to be the poster-boy for South African cycling and under MTN stewardship he was going to progress up the ranks and develop into the team's GC leader at the Tour. It's not hyperbolic to suggest that he was being groomed as the embodiment of the team on and off the road. In August he looked set to stay with the team too and Ryder was utterly unaware of the about turn that saw former MTN manager Brent Copeland swoop in and cherry-pick Meintjes for 2016. MTN's loss is certainly Lampre's gain and the 23-year-old, who finished 10th in the Vuelta during the best season of his career to date, could develop into the signing of the season.
  8. You can't ask for more African than that 7 out of 8
  9. Please clarify for me He said they take the points from the top 5 riders and the team with the highest points gets chosen Question: Is it the top 5 riders in the team this year - or - the top 5 he will have in the team next year. ?
  10. I do know they will be keeping the -Q-on their backs which I found was very identifiable from the air. I agree the green could clash with Cannondale Garmin and Caja Rural Seguros.
  11. Can you please substantiate your reasons why this will be going backwards ?
  12. I agree ! Some of these Afrrican riders would never have seen a Major Tour with any other team but now they are team mates with some of the best in the world.
  13. I personally think it's the training they get from Dr Carol Austin. Let's see if she can get something extra out of Cav
  14. They will be riding the Cervelo R6 with Enve wheels and cockpit. It will have the new Rotor electronic group set.
  15. He is the David Beckham of cycling and even if he has past his best he will still bring a lot of attention and exposure to the team and Qhubeka I'm sure if he is motivated and with the support he will have from a great lead out team he will get some results Good luck to the team !!! It definitely reads as the best pro Continental team
  16. Agree !! And next year he will be with DD as well.
  17. They will be the Cervelo R6 with the new Rotor electronic groupset.Enve wheels and cockpit
  18. I hear Etihad sponsor was just a rumor. The other sponsor is possibly ??? an International Accounting firm.
  19. Well done Songezo! You are a great roll model to the youth of the country let's hope with the Qhubeka bike initiative you motivate more youngsters to take up the sport. I was disappointed that Super Cycling did not give you 6 other Africans credit besides just focusing on LM. Good luck for next year.
  20. An excellent achievement !!! Good luck in keeping it.
