  1. I need to go back and look at this section to figure out how you guys managed to turn backwards up a B line in stead of going forwards. But will note it for next time and make sure it is obvious. Luckily you realized were to go or else you may still be there, riding round and round in circles!!!!
  2. Thanks for the positive feedback. If anybody else has any feedback or comments, feel free to send them to me. We are always looking for ways to improve and correct mistakes. If anybody has some pics or videos of the day, we would love to see them too, Unless it's of that idiot crashing into the safety fencing at the end of the final stage!!!
  3. Yes. Point of view cameras and GPS devices are allowed.
  4. Just to get you in the mood.
  5. Just a reminder, registration will be from 6h00 to 8h00 on Saturday morning. Race briefing will be at 8h30, after which you can start making your way up the hill to start riding at 09h00 Number boards will be supplied. Bring on the fun!!!
  6. Most race use UCI rules, which state that you can draft, but not behind someone of the opposite sex. But as previously said, if your not receiving a pay check or chasing a podium spot, nobody really minds.
  7. Could you give us some information on crash replacements? This can make a huge difference when 6 month into a helmets life you damage it in a crash, and need to bye a new one.
  8. Good luck with that. Hope you've been practicing ducking under and jumping over the tape!!!!
  9. For this event, we will aim at a 30 second gap, but if you feel the need, can ask for a 1 min gap. One of the reasons for forcing guys into 30 second gaps is to get all the riders through the trails before night fall. 200 riders at 1min intervals is over 3 three hours, and that is just one stage. To alleviate this, we are opening up stage 1 to 4 to be ridden in any order, so there should not be too much congestion at any one stage. This is not fool proof, as a bunch of riders could all end up at the same stage at the same time but should help. Please talk to the riders in front and behind you, and try to cede yourselves as best you can. It it not a perfect system, but seems to work. Please do not assume that just because you are a guy that you are faster than all girls or a young kids. Plenty of guys with expensive bikes and flashy kit hold up girls and kids on trails. Talk to the timing guys, they will be instructed to use their discretion, but they have also been instructed to get everybody down the hill in good time. The general guideline will be between 30 sec and 1 min. Most of the stages are not too long, so unless their is a big difference in skill level, a 1 min gap should be plenty.
  10. That is more or less correct. Stage 3 will remain a mystery trail, to be relieved on the day. Should keep things interesting. The order of the trails will not be fixed. With the exception of Stage 5, which has to be done last. So you can ride Stages 1 to 4 in any order, and then finish with Stage 5. Stage 6 will be Burgers and draft. This is not a timed stage, although maybe we should make it one???
  11. http://www.zapiks.com/giba-gravity-enduro-2014-sta.html Here is a preview of Stage 4.
  12. We are not going to publish all the info about all the stages. This will keep it fresh and make for exciting racing.
  13. Stage one, and stage three run existing trail in reverse for a portion. These will not be open for practice and can only be ridden in that direction on race day. This is mainly from a safety point of view, but also because riding trails without practicing is a skill on it's own and will make for exciting racing.
  14. Your are absolutely correct. You were going in the correct direction on that stage (the one in the video, starting at the pylon and going down fern hill. Sorry, I thought you were on the stage one from last year. (reverse down the climbing switchbacks) This will be Stage one for this year as well. I apologize.
  15. I would say that you came off lightly considering you were riding down a one way trail the wrong way. Please don't do this, it is dangerous and irresponsible.
