  1. Hi All. I am looking to buy a new Helmet. I want to get something of good quality. Budget of 2k. Had a look at the Giro Chronicle, POC Trabec, Rudy Protera and Uvex Quattro. Any advice or reviews on these? Or other options? All assistance will be much appreciated.

    Bells

Hi. I want/need a good bell on my bike to shoo people out the way when on a public path But I cannot find one. I need/want a brass striker on a brass bell so it sounds like a bell and not a plastic toy. Specialized sells one for R160 which is fine but they never have stock and when I went into a Concept Store asking for a brass bell and that only, I got a really weird look. Bikebells.co.za has a nice black brass bell for R900 which is way too nice of a price for me to pay for this. Does anyone have one they don't need and would like to sell on? Or where can I find one? https://www.specialized.com/za/en/accessories/specialized-brass-bell/106200 http://www.bikebells.co.za/products/black-bell
  3. Hi Guys and Girls. So I need to tap into some of that Awesome Hub Opinion. I'm Off to the USA next month and wanna get a new Enduro lid with detachable chin guard. I have looked at a bunch. Giro switchblade, Lazer (something), Met parachute (know its not detactable) and a few others but I managed to narrow it down to two that I really like. Leatt DBX 3.0 Enduro http://www.leatt.com/shop/helmets/bicycle/helmet-dbx-3-0-enduro-v2-blue-lime.html New kid on the block with regards to removable chin guards so not much in the case of reviews that are long term, however Leatt are known for great quality pots and it looks nice in chinless mode. Bell Super 3R https://www.bellhelmets.com/en_eu/cycling/helmets/super-3r-mips-equipped-1 Bell have just released just the Super 3R, I was thinking of getting the 2R and now they have updated it with the 3R that has a better fit, look and integrated MIPS. They claim to have ironed out a few problems. so any version 2.0 has appeal over a first release as with the Leatt. Both lids are around the $230 mark so price is not a factor. Would love to hear the Hubbers thoughts and Opinions BELL LEATT
  4. Hey Guys So I have an old Specialized MTB helmet that fits great and is going to be used for road use (for now). I want to start doing Enduro events here in the Western Cape and would like a helmet with more coverage. I tried on a Bell Stoker (my heads 59cm) in a Medium very strange fit compared to my helmet I have now and a Giro was very narrow i found. Cant find a Bell Super 2r Mips anywhere in CT to try on and have read the forum about stockists not thinking they would sell here. Does anyone here have one? Medium is 55-59cm and large 58-62cm. (Im 59cm) Would want a medium could always pay to post it back and swap online but trying to avoid that. Think Large will be like a fish bowl and don't like that top heavy sort of look. Would be great if I could try them on but cant. If anyone has one let me know how the MIPS ones fit? Maybe a similar style bell here in CT i could try for size? OR should I rather go for a helmet here I can try on? Have not done any Enduro events not sure if guys just all wear XC/ALL Mountain type helmets and not full face anyways. Reason I would like the full face is some added protection (even if not DHrated) as i start getting better and practicing more advanced routes.

  6. When I go into most bike shops it's seldom I will see a helmet that is not suited to the road or XC purposes. There's countless options of them out there. It's not often you see something with some rear and side support – more focused on the trail and all mountain side of things. I set out to see what I could find that is readily available in South Africa. Click here to view the article
