Once upon a time I remember people trying to justify why they didnt want to use disc brakes too (extra weight bla bla etc) A well tuned and dialed in FS XC bike will not weigh much more than your hardtail will, and will be superior in climbing, descents and comfort. Maybe then because it makes you faster, there will not be a need to shave the legs and wear spandex
