  1. Thanks Tumbleweed....I can't post a pic just yet, decided not to unwrap it just in case I want to return it. To add to my frustration they supplied me a Small (50) and I ordered a 52 which should be the S/M....... . In fairness to Takealot though I haven't been in touch with them to discuss, only picked up the bike yesterday afternoon.
  2. Haha...maybe I should stick to S.I.R.Maxxis' quote and stick to "Lard Ass" instead. Apologies to those riders with extra ordinary big sit bones then...
  3. I'm still new to this and inexperienced - my concern was from a safety point of view, agree it does look kinda cool though
  4. Bought from Takealot...supplied by Cycle Lab, not sure which branch ( ass-u-me its from Cycle Lab as the bike is wrapped in Cycle Lab packaging) I stand under correction here though. It is brand new - 2013 model.
  5. Thanks- I read a few articles relative to your comment as well. These wheels are put together in the factory so I assume it would have been laced correctly. My concern though is every single front wheel I have seen on this particular bike is not spoked radially....so why this one?? I guess a question I'll need to direct to the supplier..
  6. It is a Shimano Tiagra Hub correct..
  7. Thanks S.I.R Maxxis...also the Merida Website says wheels are spoked prior to shipping...so I guess it must be right then. FYI its the Alexrim Merida MR 500 wheelset. HAHAHA...luckily not a vetgat!
  8. Anyone please advise. Collected my new Merida Race Lite 903 today. See pic of front wheel, spokes don't cross over each other. All pics I've seen the spokes cross over. Is this correct/dangerous?
  9. If only the Roads Agency could make roads wider (where space allows) as quickly as they put "Toll Gates" up I'm sure us cyclists coud feel just a bit safer! Hope the downed cyclist is ok!
  10. Flandria Cycles in Stellenbosch....great individual attention even on a busy Satuday morning.
  11. Seems to be all sorted - thanks all for comments. Clipping in easier now, just seemed to be as a result of "new" stifness in pedal and cleat.
  12. Hi Skistar...will post some pics when I get home later today.
  13. Nope---brand new shoes as well as cleats and pedals. Ill keep playing with the tension and see if I come right otherwise Ill take the bike in to LBS and get them to check it out. Thanks for the comments guys
  14. Yip went to both sides of the "+" and "-" scale and still not clicking in....they are brand new pedals/cleats and shoes.Possibly I'm doing something wrong being a novice.
  15. Haha...only deaf when my credit card tells me too stop!
  16. I can't seem to get my cleats to "click" in(Shimano PD-R540). Cleats do grip but I don't hear the "click". First time I'm using cleats - any advice on what to do please hubbers.
  17. Agree with comments above....go to your Dr and get a full ECG done, this way you will know what your min/max heart rate is. Aslo be able to pick up on blocked arteries etc. My polar also spiked at 220 even at rest rate, best advice I got was to wash the strap with non-scented soap and rinse thoroughly...hasn't spiked since I did that.
