  1. Leon pro, My firewall/laptop is preventing me to see your pic... But I'm sure its for Mailman... Mailman, its next to the area being used for the Irene Market. Ask any woman in Centurion/Greater Pretoria and they will be able to direct you... I might not be able to make it this weekend for the Sunday ride, but will try... To those riding, safe cycling this weekend (and hopefully no incidents!!!)...
  2. Thanks Guys! This is good info... Now most of my excuses are out the window... Damn... Impressed with you guys riding last night. Must have been wet-n-wild... or should I say slippery and dirty...? Two questions: 1. What does DAD stand for? Dark And Dirty? (One questions ) 2. Where's Bester Cycles? Will see some of you guys over the weekend...
  3. Leon pro, What's the pace of the group? Would be interested to join to meet new MTBers in Centurion, as we have been cycling around Centurion with the same few friends the last few years... Haven't cycled much in the area since my buddy's attack just after Mathilda's. But need the MTB training. I would not want to hold back a pro group... More of a back of the packer. Training for Sabie Ex (Marathon), hopefully Sani (on waiting list since Sept 08)and definitely Argus this year. Did Barberton and FO last weekend. And let me save face by not asking how quickly (see slowly) I rode Barberton... I did finish... .. I've been thinking of negotiating with Agteros for his forum name... I have met some MTBers at THB (to Hell and Back) last year that rides from MD, so I might join them this Saturday, and hopefully another group on Sunday.
  4. Thanks DR, What's the arrangements for D&D (time, venue, etc) as well as DAD? Pardon my ignorance.
  5. Bump
  6. Hi guys and gals, Would like to confirm a few group rides available out there, as well as listing some that is available, if possible. Fritz Pienaar on Saturday mornings 06:00 from Southdowns, Mervin Dinkleman (Spelling might suck), Saturday mornings from 07:00 from the shop, Epic Sports? Please correct me if wrong, they do the D&D's on Thursday nights from Irene (Cow) mall? Grant Cycles? Any informal groups? We met a group riding to Delmas on service roads once about three weeks ago? Specific goals like Epic? Or space for slower marathon-type riders? Feedback would be appreciated.
  7. Simple solution to a simple problem... Not overhauling the brake system...:-) Lets face it, advice from a Rookie that had a problem like that. Will not be able to solve the problems of the world... PS: we live for downhills... and the faster the better...
  8. Sounds like Niterider has the answer. With the thin blade you can wedge it in between the pads, and press on the brake lever. After releasing there should be sufficient space for your wheel to fit back in. If not, do the exercise a few times (maybe using a thicker blade). The idea is to use the pads' force onto a flat surface to release them. And you can break your finger in your nose as well...
  9. A thin knife blade also works very well. Screwdriver can damage the pads if you're careless...
