I can vouch for that, I have a pair of 2011 Formula The One FR on the DH bike, and the pads are just as close as on the Elixirs.

So, did you have your problem fixed? I don't know about you but I'll *have* to rebleed my brakes (Elixir R) when I'll replace my pads. Due to the fact that I've bled them with the pads half worn and they're soo close to the disk all the time, I'm sure I won't have enough room to install new pads. These brakes came with the bike, but when the time comes, I'll try another brand with more pad/disk clearance.

Really? You're the first guy I hear with such a bad opinion about Monarchs. You should dare, that's how progress is made.

Nope, I rode an Izimu. But was thinking of buying one at some point, then it got phased out. I don't like what they replaced it with.

Yeah, I'm sure you cand find some friends or relatives in europe that can remove the bill from the box and then forward you the package in SA. This way, you probably won't pay any (other) taxes, either... I had the occasion a couple of times and did this for stuff ordered from the USA.

[talking about the Canyon brand as example] I find it funny and sad at the same time that a company has to get a well renowned athlete and possibly win some races so that the general audience notices their products. They made pretty much the same [good] bikes before having FB and people were reticent, now it's all changing. You do realize that FB would have the same results riding a Decathlon Rockrider with a similiar setup?? I hope no one in particular feels offended, that was not my purpose, sometimes I just feel dissapointed when I see how little logical and how much emotional people are in their choices... That's why a good marketing campaign could have you taste **** and swear it's better than caviar... </rant>

Why do you say this? It's an All Mountain bike, I admit I haven't ridden one, but won't dismiss it because they're new to the [enduro] game. Plus I'd say it gets a +1 for being different. EDIT: but I do confess to liking underdogs.
