  1. Shot for the replies, hesitant to chuck dhr on the back as it's a 2.4 and I am sick of roaring and ripping fat, sticky back tires up all these hills! Not riding too much and will either keep the minion for the front once the high roller is done (read quite a few articles which reckon it's not half bad as a front tire - with stellar breaking capabilities) or just return it for another hr2. For the back I'm trying to get a pacestar super gravity rock razor, but no luck on that front.
  2. Hi guys, Had been looking for Maxxis High Roller 2s for quite some time... Anyways, I came across some and bought two. Both are 27.5 x 2.4 3C Compound, DH Casings. Anyone have any clue why they would have different tread patterns? Methinks there may have been a mixup at the factory and one is in fact a minion dhr2. It's had me scratching my head quite a bit. Anyone have comments about the 3C compound? Since I moved from XC weekend warrior, to enduro/lite DH weekend warrior, I've been a Schwalbe guy, keen to give these a try!
  3. I've run the HD on the back for a while (and on front), started with 2.35 trailstar and then changed to 2.25 pacestar. Don't really notice a difference in grip between the two but the 2.25 with pacestar rolls a bit quicker and certainly lasts a lot longer. TS wears very quickly on the back.
  4. Gone I'm afraid... Had some tasty castles in return! Either get from action cycles in town, or Stoke suspension works (Droo on the hub). Cheers
  5. Those are some sweet looking rims and 30mm internal will be a treat!
  6. Thanks. Gx is a beaut. I got the x1 shifter (as jensonusa didn't have the gx) which downshifts 4 or 5 gears at once which is nice in the situations where I would've dropped to my small chainring with 2x10. Otherwise, its shifts perfectly, is very quiet, and looks epic. So I'm very chuffed. US prices and a visit from my states-based sister made it an easy upgrade choice for me [emoji3]
  7. 2014 Giant Trance 27.5 2 Just did a drivetrain upgrade on my baby: - Pike and Monarch Plus - Sram gx group - SLX brakes 203/180 icetech rotors - Giant dropper - Funn Mamba pedals
  8. found these raven glasses in car park at G-Spot. PM/call me if they're yours.
  9. Won't be a problem. Get any fork and you just have to change the top bearing of the headset if it isn't a giant oem fork.
  10. That strive.... Sweet Lord that is nice!
  11. Hey Wally, I ride a 650 trance with 157/160mm rear/front travel. Trails are nice there, and Northern suburbs too. With tokai out of action it's has been good finding new stuff to do... Enjoy mate.
  12. I'm in the exact same boat on that one! Always chicken out last minute... +1 well done to the builder. I baled hard the first time I messed that jump up. Opened up my chin on the handle bars, was winded, wheezing for breath on my back seeing stars for a minute or two. So I've definitely got respect for that buggar. Haven't done much up from g for a while, used to go into Eden forest, there's some nice pine ST there but it is quite confusing, I just follow trail until I pop out somewhere else. Then up and left (north from the start) from g is that koetzenberg? I have followed a high level ST that goes through pebbly/rocky terrain through gum trees, I think. Do you just keep on going?
  13. Thanks mate. No, I haven't done the big/left line jumps yet. Saw the airtime the regulars were getting off the first big jump on that line and nearly sh@t myself [emoji15] that's gonna be the goal tomorrow/this weekend... There's also some new techniques to attempt (slow and high jump to steep landing and hip jump) Thanks, the relaxing and loosening up is coming along with time... The jumps I haven't hit yet are definitely smaller than the ones I have, but are doubles with a hole in between so just taking it slow... But all in all its such an awesome trail, been having a lot of fun there over the last few weeks...
  14. Shot for the tips... I'm getting there, have buried most of the demons (in the form of the big jumps ). Only a couple of the doubles to master before I can jump the whole route...
  15. Seems there's no other way... I've been trying to get HR II's for ages but nobody seems prepared to bring them in. Ended up going with a 2015 Sch NN PS for a rear tire... Havent fitted it yet though.
