  1. Anybody doing this race? Looking for a race this coming weekend and this looks like my only option but have not done it before. Any comments from those who have done it?
  2. Hmmm ... will check ... and will feel very stupid if they do differ! Thanks and will give some feedback tomorrow ...
  3. Had a couple of different different types and could not find anything working for me. Got a set of candys three years ago and never looked back. For me they are super reliable, engagement is always very positive, and maintenance except normal cleaning is not a problem. I have however found that during VERY muddy conditions you sometimes need to push a bit harder to engage (as with all other pedals that I have used as well)
  4. Yes, changing between the Mavics and the Vuelta sets is problematic .... :-(
  5. I need some advice on a topic that seemed very simple to me but aparantly it is not .... I basically need three different wheelsets (1 x aero carbon (Vuelta carbon), 1 x normal aluminium (Mavic Krysium Elite) 1 x indoor trainer (Mavik Aksium)) to work on my bike. However when I change them the gears never seem to align up correctly and some adjustment is always needed which is very frustrating. All three of them have the same Ultegra cassettes on. Any explanation / advice / experience from anybody perhaps?
  6. I see from the last pic that you left late ....
  7. Thanx for all the advice! Seems like there is a lot of mixed preferences out there. I however like the look and the finish of the Mavic's and there are a lot of positive (... and some negative) comments towards them. Got a great deal on a set at Bruce Reynecke Cycles and they should arrive this coming Friday. Will let you guys know how they are ... really hope they are good as on my budget does not allow for another wheelset for the next 50 years! ;-)
  8. Phoned their 'contact number' .... no answer Normally when it sounds to good to be true ... it is! I would not bet my hard earned money on these guys ....
  9. I have found the same thing on my Garmin Edge 705. Starting and finishing point at exactly the same place, yet a difference in altitude - suppose they are simply not 100% accurate. However sometimes can be a bit of a pain as you think that you can expect a flat ending to a race and then you continue to climb past your starting altitude :-(
  10. Looking for a decent, light, non aero road wheelset in the R5000 - R7000 price bracket ... any suggestions? Any dealer recommendations?
  11. Ahhh .... the pain! cool for you just leave the rest of us out of your vendetta!
  12. Anyone part of the Sunday morning Bruce Reynecke club ride behind Roodeplaat dam? My cycling partner recently decided that cycling takes second preference so I am looking at joining a group. I see them riding every Sunday around Roodeplaat dam which is perfect for my training time, and would appreciate to get some comments / advice from the 'more seasoned' Hubbers :-)
