  1. Seems like the weather gods will be smiling on us.... 16 deg at start max of 23, overcast the whole day and the wind picking up to a max of 6m/s.... Going to be good fun.
  2. So this a week of weather watching... Windguru / YR / Weather SA... That Northwester is going to make it tough. Gonna have to hide away in a bunch.
  3. I ride to work in Montague Gardens from Bloubergstrand following the cycle path, and in the afternoons do a longer loop home. I go up Tyger Valley Road, left in Potsdam, Malibongwe, and then Sandown Road back to Bloubergstrand Have had absolutely no issues. There is nice wide shoulders all the way. Lots of traffic in the afternoon after 5, but it's not a problem.
  4. Who else is looking forward to this one? Will be my first doing the 100 miler.. Lets hope the weather is kind to us. Will be keeping all eyes on the forecasts.
  5. Does anyone know if this is possible..
  6. After watching the clip, I was wondering.. If you could pose 1 question to Lance what would that be.. Here's mine : "What's the most fun thing you've done in the last 12 months"?? Yes, he admitted guilt etc etc... But this man has been so instrumental in cycling, and in building brands... Trek, Nike, Livestrong.. Wonder if he was able to have some fun the last few months.
  7. See Jennie was 8th overall. Powerhouse indeed on the road and the MTB... Me thinks I must get hold of her coach..
  8. Really looking forward to this event this coming weekend. Some great trails out there, awesome hospitality, and off course.. Some luxury staying in the hotel as well. Who else is going?
  9. Going to be hectic busy at Meerendal tonight with this awesome weather :-). 200 people there last week for the night ride. I am going there straight after work, and doing a loop. Starting +/- 17:45. Still contemplating doing the "night ride" as the second section once you have come down the single track and crossing the gravel road that goes up to Dorstberg is full of younger riders, and parents with kids etc. Great to see the sport takes off in such a big way.
  10. What a lekker night last night... Crisp clear evening, and loads of riders. Didn't see any tattoo'd legs ?? So no Octopus to follow.
  11. FANTASTIC.. Tomorrow is definitely on for Meerendal... Leaving Montague Gardens at 5pm... Loop of Hoogekraal before Meerendal.. and then onto Meerendal for nightride.. Back home to Blouberg afterwards. If you guys know of anyone else that wants to join in even for part of it... Please let me know.
  12. I am definitely keen to join... Working in Montague Gardens, so will cycle from home to there in the am... Then after work to DBN'Ville and the correct "Koeberg road" ... cycle with you guys and then cycle home.. Caerus, Get in touch and we can plan to ride together if you'd like. I do the same thing on Thursdays for Meerendal night ride.. i.e. ride to work.. ride to Meerendal.. Do ride and ride home...
  13. I had the pleasure of seeing the new KTM Solus Prime at Cyclelab today .... And... it's lighter than the new Trek weighing in at 6.9kg's..
  14. Zeepee, this is the new one.... BEAUTIFULL and at 6,7kg's.... Real Racing Machine.
  15. Hi All, I am getting into MTB-ing quite seriously now for the first time. Got about R 10k to spend and looking for a good quality hardtail to do some multi-day events soon. First one Sabie Experience. Got an option of either a Trek 6700 - 2008 model, or GT Avalanche 1.0 2009 model. Being a novice, the question is..... which one? Thanks for the help. WWW
