  1. Apparently they did not even stop? Is it true?
  2. For a start get rid of the charities. Why justify hosting a race because the money raised goes to a charity? Why give money to charities? Charities use the money to wine and dine potential sponsors, volunteers, etc at considerable costs. Top level staff are flown all over for these functions. They stay in expensive accommodation. The one I saw this weekend flown down on Friday from Gauteng to Slaapstad for an dinner at charity expense. Most of the weekend spend galavanting the wine farms. Lekker man Lekker. Exec's etc earn huge salaries and lots of perks. I only do non charity events.
  3. What was the organisers thinking. At the start the front of the bunch was facing west and the back half east. When a group started the back of the group had to make a very tight 360 degree while the front portion sped down the road. The rules announced an 3 km neutral zone at the start which the lead vehicle will enforce. WHAT LEAD VEHICLE THERE WAS NONE. Presenting club's riders sped of the front leaving no chance for a bunch or even fair start. Was this proudly planned by the presenting club? Please enforce the rules you make and also the GNC, CSA and UCI rules especially when you race in age categories. No prize money for R 190 entry fee. Given the winners bottles of wine is so wrong.
  4. Seriously is it worth a moan here. If you are so against job creation stop and pick it up. You must have sleepless nights to watch the TDF littering.
  5. Who has been banned/suspended in the past?

    apology

    Why was Bigh banned?
  7. It is all about the practice of charging a handling fee. He did not charge me but how many others were charged under the same circumstances. If I just agreed he would have charged me without getting into the detail of what happened. It is also about the general attitude of the shop owner. But whatever he will not see me again irrespective whether he charged me or not. It is also a case of your expert staff not knowing their products. I am not upset about it. I am amazed at how he treats his customers. You want to build a customer base not chase them away.
  8. BB30 Bearing set. It is press fit. Handed sales person a sample. Package opened by sales person and he ensured me it is the correct bearings. You get pressfit bearings for Sram cranks and for Shimano cranks. Also told the sales person it was for an xt crankset. Credit card sale and the transaction was reversed on the card. My point is that a 5 % handling fee under the circumstances is unnecessary. Shop owner did not even go to the trouble of finding out what the problem was. Shop owner also knows nothing about customer care. It just seems like an scaly business practice. Various original component manufacturer make a lot of parts which is interchangeable with other brands. The sample was manufactured by Truvativ. So Sram Shimano Campagnolo who cares. The shop staff are the experts.
  9. Goods supplied the wrong type. Was supposed to be for Shimano and was given SRAM. the bearings differ in size. I specifically asked for Shimano and gave them a sample to check against. I phoned them within 20 minutes to let them know they have supplied the wrong bearings. I do not hate anyone. Shop simply will not see me again because they might want to pull another stunt like this. At the end of the day a crap retail experience.
  10. Stipulated an Shimano XT crank and showed them the sample bearing for the frame. Press fit bearings. The diameter of SRAM and Shimano cranks differ quite a bit. I phoned them on my way home way before I tried to put it in the frame. SRAM bearings must by 5 mm bigger in diameter and will never fit in the frame. All shimano
  11. Last Friday I bought an press fit bb set not knowing you get them for SRAM and Shimano in different sizes. Within 20 minutes of paying for it I phone the LBS and alerted them to the fact that they have given me the wrong type. I did mention it was supposed to be for an Shimano XT crank. Took it back on Monday as they did not have the correct item in stock and the owner of the establishment informs me that they have a 5 % handling fee on returns policy. I cannot recall seeing the relative signage communicating this fact. I however explained to the owner that the wrong part was supplied upon which decides to wave the 5% handling fee as if he is doing me a huge favour. The owner carries on about the sales person having to have the item checked to make sure that nothing is missing and that they can still sell it. I do not think Mr. Owner knows that his sales person knows me for a long time and is the reason I was shopping from him. The sales person only started working there a month or so ago. One of the things of course that comes to mind is the consumer protection act. Another thing is that the owner seems to have this habit of looking down his nose at his clients. Mr. Owner I hope you realise that you have lost a customer for life as I will not be buying from you again as I am sh*t scared that you will come up with some nonsense like this. I also do not buy things to steal small parts from them. And you do not have to have the attitude of you are the king and I am peasant. It is the other way round . I am the King whose cash you want. It is such a pity you changed your mind as I wanted to name you on this forum and warn other "Kings" about you. At first I was very impressed with your shop but you sure as hell kicked a dent into that one.
