  1. Hi Joe Low, Thanks for the support. We have tried to get Bakwena on board, but they do not want to sponsor anything. A few years ago the Carousel paid all the toll fees, but their sponsorship has also been cut. We will try to negotiate with Bakwena agin in future. Regards Anton
  2. Thanks to all the cyclists that entered this event. Even with the rain and wind, we still had a good race. We will pay attention to the complaints and have already put a plan in motion to improve on entries and seeding issues. Hopefully we will get some sponsorship on board to keep the costs down. If all goes well, we will have a special medal and loads of prizes for the 15th edition of this race to raise funds for Sungardens/Mamelodi Hospice. Anton
  3. I see a lot of brave cyclist willing to boycot events because they feel done in when it comes to sost. Can I ask, how many of you have been involved with presenting a race? NONE. I can see it from your comments. If you see what effort it takes and what costs are involved in presenting an event, your blindfolds may just slip off to give you a shot of reality. I have been involved in Cycling events for 14 years now, but this year will be the last. I am sick and tired of spending my time and effort to arrange a great event supporting a fantastic charity, just to be insulted by fault finding low lives. So please go ahead, boycot races, most of the people moaning do not do races in any case, most of the big clubs with the large membership numbers do not even present races, ask them why.... The reason is that the big clubs are not willing to risk being criticized by YOU. They take your money and may host training rides, but do very little else in sponsorship or supporting charities. Want races? organise it yourself! See how you can do the best for your charity, not take any money and still present a safe enjoyable race!!! Good Luck
  4. Entries close on 1 August. Numbers can be collected and late entries will be taken at Linden Cycles, Johannesburg on 6 August and at Bruce Reynecke Cycles Pretoria on 7 August. There is an extra cost for late entries, as I have to do manual capturing of your entries. Please enter online to avoid more complaining ang griping about costs. Thanks for those of you that are supporting Hospice by riding this event, all proceeds goes to Hospice.
