  7. Its been a while since I updated this platform. Here are the latest on my bikes. 1982 Mongoose Minigoose with Brett Allen's (1980s Mongoose Pro rider) Race Plate.
  8. Hi, I don't really do evaluations sorry. I reckon as a start just advertise what you think the bike owes you. Someone will eventually want it and be willing to pay you what they think its worth. There is no market related price for old bicycles I must add. Your bike is probably late 90s or early 2000 so the demand for them is not that great currently. I am not too familiar with them myself. I am mainly into the 70's and 80's BMX.
  9. Thank you!
  10. Thanks Adr!@n. Would love to see pics of your bike.
  11. Howsit fellas. Just an update as its been a while. Adulting hit me and havent had time to play as much. LOL Just fitted some other goodies on my 1987 Mongoose Eric Rupe. Then I was contacted to have two bikes built for a UK advertisement. These were the bikes of choice. 1982 Kuwahara KYZ 1983 Mongoose Minigoose
  12. Dusted off some of the bikes and took some pics.
  13. Here are a couple more photos of us pedaling the bikes for a little while on the day. Just goes to show how daring and willing my wife is to keep her husband happy
  14. Thank you!
  15. Hi all, We need all the help we can find to win a competition myself and my wife entered for our wedding. Although it might not be entirely cycling related, however there is a bit of BMX displayed in our wedding photos which is also entered. If admin does not approve of this I will understand. Below is the link to cast a vote: http://bruidspaar.sarie.com/entry/ilse-en-ashley/ Please click the "kliek hier om te stem" icon and scroll up to complete your details to successfully vote for us. Below is the translated version of the story my wife wrote for those who would like to read. Just a pic for some attention from our entry: Thanks in advance to all! Stay RAD!
  16. So I need to thin out on some of my bikes / parts. I built this one to sell. If anyone is interested, its lifted in the classifieds. Its a 1982 Patterson Pro. As far as i know, this is the only one in South Africa (I imported the frame myself). The other Pattersons which have surfaced over the years are the later model (made by GT). Well here are the pictures of the bike.
  17. Busy with my 1982 Minigoose...just a mock build but things will change.
  18. This was the son's one. As you can see...more patina on this one. He must have given this one a good go until he gave up on riding. The chainring was bent and the rear rim has a ding in it. I dont think he master kerb jumping.
  19. There is a little story about these two bikes. The short of it is that in 1983 a dad bought his son and daughter each a Diamond Back HLT. The son rode his one more than the daughter...kinda obvious. Well then until last year the dad was unpacking and pulled these two out of his loft after 30+ years. Advertised them as the son and daughter did not want them. Even a cycle shop turned the bikes away (little did they know these bikes hold some value). The bikes got listed on Gumtree and someone bought it. I wanted them as this owner didnt seem to be too passionate about them. I had what he wanted and he did the trade. And the rest is history and these bikes are in good hands now Well here are the pictures of the daughter's one. Its the one that is untouched with the original Diamond back branded tyres.
  20. Thank you. I have reached my quota of bikes so will not...or should I say SHOULD NOT be acquiring anymore. LOL Thank you. I wish I could update it more often but lots has happened within the last year that occupied my "free" time. That is a Motomag. I have a yellow one in my collection in the original finish and it actually came from Durban about just under 3 years ago. I received it like this: And now it looks like this: And I bought the motomag wheels from someone in JHB last year some time.
  21. Then I made some progress and changes on the other bikes. Profile Champ Pro Mongoose Pro Class Mongoose Supergoose Kuwahara Survivor I am still busy assembling the Motomag, Patterson, 2 Minigoose and maybe build a Kamikaze as I acquired a frame. Group shot of the top Mongoose bikes of my collection to close
  22. Its been a while and just thought I would post some of the latest bikes I have now. I traded out some bikes for others and acquired some: Here are a few of the current bikes I own. Western Flyer Scorpion Mongoose Eric Rupe 2 Diamond Back Harry Leary Turbo's Kuwahara KZ1
