  3. Sorry for the late response. The bikes at Sportsman's Warehouse would be the new school mongoose bikes. So yes...nothing to do with the old school Mongoose bikes from the 80s.
  4. Hi guys, This is a quick updated. Over this time I have bought plenty of parts for this build which should be all blue but I have not found a few items yet that's required. I did a quick temporary build using some of my red parts I had...and this is what it is now. http://s26.postimg.org/4zw4fw0ax/FB_IMG_1403110779209.jpg All comments welcome
  5. Hahaha! No problem.
  6. That sucks! My bikes are currently chained to a heavy steel table until I hang them and bolt them to a wall inside my house in a retro room.
  7. Hi, Can you email me the details and pictures of the bike please? redliner1wp@gmail.com. Thanks.
  8. They pop up every now and then. LOL. I had to swop the diamondback frame for this one with some extras. Thanks
  9. Hi Guys, Me again with my Old School BMX fetish. I found myself this survivor 1983 Mongoose Californian in almost original condition. It had some crappy grey spray over the whole bike. I am just glad that all the parts were in place except for the grips, tyres and seat. This is how I received the bike: http://s26.postimg.org/mlze6xj0l/IMG_20140520_WA0016.jpg I then stripped it down and started cleaning the grey paint off to see the condition of all the chrome etc. http://s26.postimg.org/nmzmw2005/20140524_181308.jpg The chrome is in bad condition and it seems that was the reason for the spray work. But its fine...it gives some character and shows the age of the bike. This is all the parts: http://s26.postimg.org/s7ltazjph/20140613_164936.jpg I then sourced the original seat for the bike. Below is the seat found: http://s26.postimg.org/svuntxif9/20140615_125825.jpg I sourced the correct tyres and then I just used the pair of new school Mongoose grips I had laying around. I will get the right grips for it within time. And then the build started. This is what it looks like currently: With the pads: http://s26.postimg.org/e9c2v8dc5/20140615_133423.jpg Without the pads: http://s26.postimg.org/iqw04czut/20140615_125452.jpg All comments welcome.
  10. That's a very good idea. If you need any advise regarding the refurb please do not hesitate to ask. Please do it right. Maybe use the BMXmuseum to give you ideas of how what needs to be done before jumping in. They are very helpful and they give you great ideas of how to refurbish old bikes.
  11. Thank you. That's great! Please post up a pic of it if you don't mind.
