Probably was insured (Very expensive bike) but either way these guys need to be dealt with or they'll just keep harming cyclists and others. R15000 is quite a sum for 5min of work (Knocking someone off a bike 😡)

I have a plan for economic growth in SA.. When you see a car in the bike lane. Simply give it a nice HELLO with your handle bar and set his next appointment at the paint shop.. Paint shops make money, get a lot busier so they have to employ more staff, they have to use more materials so their suppliers cant keep up the demand and have employ more staff.. Insurance companies make more money.. and eventually some psychiatrists will also be making more money...

Yeah, also saw quite a few nice classics. Lots of Colnago's but no Bititans. Strangely i did the Tour De PPA a few weeks back and happened to arrive at the exact same time as another guy with a Bititan ... So i turn to him and say "Nice bike" he turns to me and goes thanks and he looks down at mine and goes " WOAH The chances of bumping into another one of these today are slimmer than that of me winning this race.." Hilarious !! That wasnt by any chance you was it.. Also seemed to have a full C-Record Group with delta brakes. Absolute stunner...

My Bititan ...

Took my baby out for the argus too.. Awesome machines. Mines not setup like yours but she rode like a dream. Got a cool 1h36

Finally managed to get another vintage from dumper to a race ready jumper... Quite chuffed with the end result. Wheeler triathlon T62 with 26" wheels. This bike has now introduced a junior 11 year old rider to the sport and he's loving every moment.. Gotta love that..

I'd get hold of a Dremel pencil grinder. Use that machine's wire brush to get rid of that old paint and corrosion. That should get rid of all that muck on the front lugs without damaging what's underneath as the dremel's wire brush is softer than a usual drill wire brush. Might take a bit longer but rather safe than sorry. You wouldn't wanna damage those carbon tubes from a little slip..Good luck with the build. Sure she'll be a beaut.
