So a brand new pair of Ksyrium SL would be a better idea than a second hand pair of R Sys?
Are these wheels worth the money? I heard they had a recall?
wow, thanks for all the responses guys. I'm defiantly going to take my time and do a bit more research.
and MTN biking... ewwww. No thanks. lol
Hi guys
Not new to the forum as I have been around a while reading what's been happening in SA cycling, but this is my first post . I recently (September 2008) started cycling after being inspired by watching TdF2008. I bought myself what I though was a pretty decent bike (08 Raleigh RC3000), which would last me for a while. I have since upgraded the wheels (Mavic Ksysrium) and I changed the horrible Raleigh saddle that comes standard with the bike. I have since discovered that I beside really enjoy the sport, I am reasonably good at it. Now I would like to upgrade my bike and I have been warned that I should spend as much as I can afford now, rather than having to upgrade every year or so.
Been looking around and beside all the flac they get on the forum, Raleigh still seems like a pretty good deal. I've been looking at the 2009 RC8000. Am I crazy to be spending R35k on a Raleigh? Is R35k to much to spend if your a begginer? Are there any other alternatives? With the component/wheels/stem/etc. that come on the RC8000, I feel I will be getting the most bang for my buck.
Thanks in advance.
Rory
