  1. You will love it. Just do the millage.............
  2. Hi, my experience in 2017: Avg Temp = 22.2°C Min Temp = 11.0°C Max Temp = 34.0°C High temp was at the start but dropped to just under 30° about 10 km into race. Was warm until about 100 Km into the race. The Low was just before sun rise (I used a wind breaker from 01:00 and was fine). FYI - I weighed about 101 kg's when I did it then.
  3. I have 3 x Argus entries available if anyone is interested.
  4. Ditto. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> Very special event and am always impressed with the supporters. Agreed, they got me through the ride after my soul left my body at Misty Cliffs....... 10 / 10 for their contribution every year. See you next year.
  5. Hammerhead Questions: 1 .Can you get the chainlink at any cycle shop? 2. Is it easier than using you chainbreaker to carry a road repair?
  6. Been struggling with chainsuck since November on my MTB. Even on the tar. <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I was told to replace the front crankset. -----> Ouch!!! Found a very cheap solution on the web. (they recommend using a file, I chose to use sandpaper). You can actually feel the roughness on the teeth. Take sand paper and sand down the side edges and top teeth of the ring. (my problem was the middle ring). Completed the Barberton MTB ride with out a glitch.
  7. Hi Raleighman Seem's no one's getting back to you.... You're welkom to join us in Alberton on weekends! (+/- 140Ks)
  8. Nish4<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> That?s not a pretty road in the afternoon. I used to do that run in the afternoons a couple of years ago but then realized at what speeds the motorists were doing on that stretch sometimes (yes, even the trucks). The @sh0les even overtake on the yellow line.... especially the traffic going to Lens. Advice - cycle on the "Rand Water Board" road, very little motorists and a nice stretch. Hope he gets well soon.
  9. Thanks to the organizers and sponsors. What a great ride yesterday. I did the 45k and the 10, 11, 12 km climb was eish?.. what a climb. It was awesome seeing guys climbing and climbing and climbing in the mist ahead. Thought the climb would never end. The route down was fast and felt never ending. Even got cramp in my arms from breaking so often.<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The last stretch in the reserve was magnificent and apologies to one of the pro's (75k riders) who hit me from behind (his number went flying!!) down one of the technical (very) sections. What a great event and lets hope the route stays the same next year. Oh, if the organizers arranged the weather, well done as there too.
