  1. If you're looking to win a race and you're the strongest in the pack, the strategy is simple: wait for the perfect moment to attack, like a long climb or a strategic point in the race. It's textbook stuff! You wouldn't want to lead from the start and time trial the whole way, only to get sprinted at the finish line! I feel sorry for some riders who seem to underestimate a 59-year-old CAT 3 rider pushing hard in the Western Cape. In other leagues, that kind of determination would be celebrated for making the race stronger, more positive, and challenging! Maybe that's why we don't see many Master riders representing Western Cape at SA championship level. Thanks for listening, and let's keep pushing each other to be our best!
  2. Time trial, time trial, time trial…. It’s a super weapon that every ride should have on the arsenal , able to hold power for long time it’s the best… unfortunately not many riders want to go there
  3. One advantage when we become Master 59 that we can choose the Cat we want to ride 😉 on my training rides, I go for a Time Trial mode ,constant power output , no surges , so I not attacking the group , just keeping the speed high, if the group feels they want to learn racing tactics and don’t want suck wheels they can choose to let me go alone so I can have my training and the group can race as they wish is that simple but as you know they rather die than let me go alone 😉
  4. Hi Andy , I see this races as a training opportunity my goal are ; SA champs , WC champs , Tour Du Cap and winning my age Cat on the Cycle Tour. I can’t get much effort sucking wheels on CAT1 or Cat2 and the distance are not suitable for my goals so CAT3 is a perfect distance and I rather be doing 320w for 2 hours than 190w on the draft 😉
  5. Unfortunately no proper hills and No individual Time Trial as well , I can’t understand how the youngsters can become a competitive on the highest levels without ITT , I been saying this for years but sounds like nobody is interested here in Western Cape , just look the top 5 best PRO riders in the world they are all a exceptional ITT
  6. I never seen a year on the league that suits climbers or Time Trial riders , most of the routes are flats ! Either way is a good training routes 😉
  7. The Philadelphia route is very flat to break away, too much firepower in the bunch 😉
  8. Check the dude on 3rd wheel some serious O2 deprived 😉 thanks everyone was a fun ride and a good training
  9. Thanks Warick , for the information, now is completely dead, no lights come on ! I think 🤔 I will use as a spares unit and try to buy a new one
  10. Hi , does anyone know someone who service the old sram red etap 11sp rear derailleur, my one stooped to work, was draining the batteries after one ride and now stooped to work completely!
