  1. An Enduro race where you need a Gravel Bike? You don't see that every day. I'm in 🤣
  2. I had Trek Domane 4.5 Disc (2016 model) that I really enjoyed. Excellent bike that could accomodate 32mm tyres and was very comformtable on our rough roads. If you can find one of these in good condition, you will be very happy. I saw one on sale here for about 23K. Here's the ad: https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/road-bikes/613348/trek-domane-45-54cm-carbon-11spd-disc Don't bother with rim brakes. I think you'll regret it.
  3. Enjoy and Vye also worth checking. Both based in CT.
  4. Stephan Kung is riding a R500 000 bike and still manages to drop a chain. WTF!!
  5. I love my current bikes, 2022 Trek Top Fuel, 9.8 and a Giant Revolt. But, my all time favourite fiets was a 2015 Yeti SB5 with 160mm Fox 36 Fork. I learned to fly ( a little bit) on that bike and did everything from Enduros to Berg and Bush on it. What a machine.
  6. I had one of these in late 70s. Heavy AF, only 3 gears and a gear chain that snapped if you just looked at it funny. But I loved that bike.
  7. I have a Trek Top Fuel 9.8 (2022) that is 12.8kgs without pedals and that bag that fits on the cubby hole. It is regarded as heavy by weight weenie XCM/O riders. But, I've done many marathons, Whine to Whales and even a 160km Gravel race. It's a great bike. Don't worry about weight if you not a podium chaser.
  8. YOH! This comment hit hard. Had to check my male privilege after reading a woman's perspective.
  9. Podiums are excellent bibs for the price. Have had mine since 2021 and they still in reasonable shape. Only used on indoor trainer these days as I've got new 2 x new Ciovita bibs.
  10. Fair comment. We're not professionals. But it's fun being an armchair critic. It's why we watch sport, as discussing it and giving our uniformed opinions on Monday is part of the fun. Don't spoil our fun with facts, logic and reason.
  11. I was also wondering about the fatigue from such a massive block of training. Maybe Unbound is not the big goal for the season?
  12. I did this race last year, the 100 miler. Don't recall any mud.
  13. This hasn't aged well. Dylan Johnson 10th overall, Matt Beers 13th. Looks like DJs aero bike and MTB tyres trumped MBs power. 😉 😜
