  1. I thought the tour was fantastic! Catered for the race snakes as well as riders that just wanted to enjoy the scenery and try get some good training in. Perfect time of year for one of the most beautiful parts of our country. Very friendly support vehicles, for all groups, that everyone could use. Glad to see that next year there will be timing and that the last day is just the road stage so we will be able to get home during daylight. Myself and my better half will definitely be back next year and hopefully bring a few friends.

  2. GP 4000. I have found very good puncture resistance with these, as well as more than good enough to race on. They are also clearing a lot of slower selling coulours at the moment, so you can pick them up for around R200 I think.

  3. May have been for warranty purposes the second time but I still had to pay. It wasn't much (R150 odd Rand) but it was 1) the principle and 2) why do they keep failing that bothered me.

I have a pair of the old black Campag Shamals now that I use for training. Absolutely brilliant!
  4. TitusTi!

Then you would probably also like to know that when I returned them to the shop (who has to then send them to Cape Town, I think, because they are a sealed unit) the salesman told me that my wheel was joining another 2 back wheel Circuits on their way back to Cape Town.

Actually a pity because I really like how they ride and they are relatively aero and light. Excellent value for money IF they didn't wear out so quick!!
  5. I have had to have my Easton Circuits rear hub bearings replaced twice in the last year!! The first time was within a year and i still had to argue with them. They claimed rider abuse??? I'm an exclusive roadie, 74kgs and treated them reasonably well I thought! 2nd time, I had to pay.

Thought you should be aware of that before making your decision.
  6. If you want hills, head North on the R102 I think, ( the road that runs parallel but inland of the Freeway) towards Sezela and Ifafa. On the odd occasion i have done that route, the traffic has not been that bad.

There is a race starting at Sezela on Sunday. Heading north and back again. 100km. The Potgieter Trophy. If you are keen. Judging by all the comments on how the Cape and Jhb okes are flying, you could just use it as a warm up/training race!
