  1. BikeHub we need your help! My friend and I are opening a bike workshop, to cater to people who need maintenance, replacing, upgrades etc etc done on their bikes but without the full bike shop attached. The aim is to cater to post purchase customers. We are in a town that has a bike shop but it has a reputation with a lot of the local cycling fraternity as not being all that great. The next option is a 30min+ drive to a decent bike shop. We already have some ideas of what we want to offer to customers starting from basic maintenance servicing, individual jobs (bleeds, gear indexing, wash and lube etc.) and full major services. We are also considering a call, collect and drop off service after hours (for the people with a little less time). We do not want to get involved with dealers at this point and for major parts we would order online with no mark up or the option to bring your own parts and only pay for labour. What we would like to find out from you is: -What jobs/ service packages suit us cyclists? -Would a labour only shop apeal to you? -Would you trust a workshop not associated with a cycling brand?

  3. My sister was telling me about this! That is one way to see who's the fastest out of 2 buddies
  4. On the DT Swiss site those wheels are 1785g so theres about 200g to loose there for R7-8k. Tyres you always drop weight on but you pay in grip and weak sidewalls. If you convert it to 1x11 that will also drop another +-400g. Also the XT 11 speed cassette is a chunk heavier than even the Sram GX, but its a new freehub and cassette. Then theres the little bits like: seatpost, bars, stem, saddle. But overall I would reccomend to have an extra kg on the bike that is reliable compared to the rest of us with constantly empty wallets
  5. There were a number of hairpins you can't see from the photo and there are 'speed bumps' to divert the water flow off the road so I had to slow for them otherwise it would have been OTB or smashed rims
  6. On the way down into the gorge on one of two stops to cool off the brakes, 400m in 2km, I made it back up as well with a lot of struggling and burning legs (iPhone 6)
  7. The local farm dog followed me for 15km at average of 20km/h and dragged me up all the hills before I dropped him off to finish my ride (iPhone 6)
  8. @iamspecializedHair-O is Everything@petosagan shows off a new look at @tinkoffsaxo's team camp. He was sure to step up the resistance training at camp this year by holding off on the shaved legs. Winning Formula? When it's gone, he'll earn around 50sec over 40km. #aeroiseverything (Photo: @brakethrough_media ) https://www.instagram.com/p/_Ijk4EweVa/ On specialized Instagram account...

  10. I'm going to have to make 100% sure. What hubs are those 2016 sworks epics running though?
  11. Thanks guys, any ideas where I can get one in the Durban area ASAP
  12. I am building up a bike for a friend and he got the new Rockshox RS-1 fork for the bike but he got it without the propietry front hub. I am needing to get a hub that will work with his Roval Control Trail SL 29 rim. I would have to double check but I think it is a 28 hole rim.
