I checked up on MTBR.com, and the kenda small block 8s weigh in at 805g while the crossmarksweigh in at 690g. If you look at the reviews, ( not sure how much faith I place in them) there isn't much to chose between the tires with the kendas rating 4.25/5 and the crossmarks rating 4.17/5.

Someone asked about Kenda Small Block 8s? I've used them for a few years now and have never had a problem with them. Got through Epic with no punctures and have maybe had one flat in the last 2 years. They are very fast rolling, but they are heavy! Tried to use the non UST versions with a Stans conversion but the sidewalls didn't last, a problem I haven't had with the UST serion. I tried Crossmarks and Larssen TT's but think the small block 8's are faster rolling. The Crossmarks are more grippy on the technical stuff though. Got a new bike a month back which came with Bontrager Jones XR's. Very light tires and great grip on the single track, just a little worried about the sidewall thickness. Will see how long they last as the rear tire seems to e wearing quite quickly.
