Hi Guys...Just had an experience with a possible scammer. I had a "Wanted ad" on Bike Hub for a Mavic Ksyrium Sl front wheel. This guy (Pic attached) Whatsapp's me and says he got my number from a friend called Jason...His name is Daniel and he has a wheel for me. Sends me pics of wheelset...First offer I make of R500 he accepts and then says I can have the set for R1000.. Just one request though.. Can I do an instant payment... And here is where the alarm bells start ringing... Also...The wheels are of the newer Ksyrium SL Pro range...easily worth about R8k. When I suggested to him that I would send someone to collect and pay cash...that was it...guy dissappears....no further responses from him. So obviously a SCAMMER.. Just doing my duty to warn my fellow Hubbers.

Looking for a riding buddy/ies for Sunday mornings or even in the week after work... I stay in Rylands Estate...Ideally a novice rider just for some fun rides

Just as many buyers also renege after agreeing to purchase and then I (the seller) put off other buyers when I could have sold to someone else.........works both ways.......NOW......I make it a point of telling every potential buyer......."First come....first served".......... and let your word be your honor...........We are here for each other ....to help each other.....

Very interesting topic and very true.......I too am a lucky fella....no nagging from wifey about cycling.....or my precious Swift Attack......How do I do it????? I started an old hobby of mine .......breeding racing pigeons.......Now that is something wifey cannot handle.......Now she actually encourages me to spend more time on my bike in the hope that I would not have time for my pigeons..........Just my 10cents worth......... lol

I too have heard this on more than one occassion...My solution,,...I bought an affordable aluminium bike to use on the idt........Did'nt want to take a chance with my carbon ride.... Just my 10c worth.........

Got me a Swift Attack last year...Matte black with white branding...as in above pics.......ABSOLUTELY stunning machine in every way........ Kitted with everything Campag.... :-)

I (seller) agree.....I made a mistake...I humbly & sincerely apologize for my mistake......I was completely unintended ........ I have now learnt a valuable lesson.....

I hear you and I have learnt from my mistake.......The wheels sold were the exact wheels depicted in the pic.......and the buyer did inspect them in front of me.....I did not rush him at all.......What gaurantee (other than the buyer's word) do I have that he never used those wheels for the past +-7months or part thereof which in turn caused the dredded "stress mark"????? I should take his word for that.....BUT he refuses to take my word that I sold him a decent wheelset.........
