  1. i could recommend Allen Mee @ cyclelab Boksburg. does brilliant work just did the bike for Gugu Zulu memorial ride.
  2. Agreed it's does cost but honestly my opinion worth it, if you on the road bike or Mtb or both you can switch between the two as you feel just fall in with the ride you want for the day. they have also got out rides at various parks for Mtb with free entry for members. this coming weekend for example modderfontien nature reserve normal entry R50 this Sunday club riders free just a simple issue of booking a spot and done. i also think 10% discount in store, so all the bits add up. Long track record as mentioned by Thomo.
  3. Unfortunately my frames each time there seems that Giant had an issue with top tube weld on the 2014 frame so frame broke same place each time, now they have upgraded me to the 2016 frame no charge and the frame has been changed much stronger top tube assembly. i must be 100% honest you can feel a difference in the bike less flex when you throw it through the trails.
  4. Giant Lifetime guarantee and to be honest I've replaced 3 frames under it and got to know the guys at Dragon pretty well. They are handled local (within SA) at most LBS's and less than a week on each claim.
  5. After an easy Sunday ride nothing to technical got home cleaning the bike and realize the rear tyre went flat pumped it and went flat again. i then removed the tyre and found a split on the circumference of the inner wall starting from the valve hole outwards in both direction. (image attached) has anyone had a similar failure or ever seen such a split. (Bio: i'm well under 100kg, ride medium pace and power minimal jumping)
  6. great Idea i have a tonne of bits and pcs from frames Road, mtb and even BMX down to stems posts ad BB's will take pics tonight and post tomorrow
  7. Cyclelab fourways Mega store has in plenty colours
  8. Has anyone ridden at Didingwe river lodge (Limpopo) had the pleasure of riding this past weekend, tough real hard work but some of the best trails I've ever played on. quite a drive from JHb 3hrs but after the weekend of riding definitely think it was well worth it. guess my question in this is simple anyone ridden there? and if so opinion on the trails? Thanks
  9. X-Ray Ask your local vet if they can do it for you. our local vet has done x-rays on things from carbon helmets to frames and forks. costs a few R's but not crazy money
  10. Giant look at bang for your buck group set and warranty
  11. not sure of a dealer in JHB but if you go the route of having bushes machined the best product to use for this application would be vesconite. and if you are looking to go this route PM me i can recommend a good machine shop that could do it (the owner also into Mtb so takes good care of what his guys do) regards

  18. Procycles Benoni speak to Paul. Or Allen Mee Cycle lab Boksburg. between these 2 i'm certain someone can sort it
  19. got the same info off the website but have family in UK that will be ordering for me if anyone keen on getting hands on some i'm gonna bring in 2 cases 24 units.
  20. your choice but go off-road loose it on a drop-off i'd still want the helmet as a precaution. i do agree if a motorist hits you it could be their fault or yours but rather than trying to pass the buck and say they should have seen me it's a simple precautionary intervention that may or may not save your life, it sure as hell won't save your legs from the roller but rather safe than sorry. but all this is just opinion based.
  21. Great Thanks i'm gonna be checking today and ordering if they ship to SA
  22. unfortunately we not all that lucky to only ride in the daylight but if it might help i'm gonna try it
  23. that is true but i'll try anything to avoid the bump
  24. agreed this could very well be a start of something. i need to charge my lights after every third ride but i do so i can be safe and see. so applying every few days still fine with me.
