  1. Good day fellow cyclists (Security Concerns) In light of the ongoing muggings and attempted muggings along Cedar Road and other Fourways areas, Thompsons Security has kindly offered to provide a security vehicle escort into the cradle. Starting from Cedar Square entrance all the way to Pedal and Sprocket intersection. There will be 2 time slots, identical on both Saturdays and Sundays. The departure point is Cedar Square Entrance (off Cedar Road) at 6:30 and and 7am. If you would like to utilise this very generous offer, please be ready to leave at the above times. The vehicles will leave at exactly 06:30 and 07:00. We will be piloting this operation from Saturday 22 April. The security car will be trying to drop off the first group at Pedal & Sprocket and still get back to Cedar Square by 7 for the second group, so the first few attempts might need a little tweaking, but having the car moving up and down the road has additional benefits of more visibility, so it will hopefully work well with timing. Should you have any questions or concerns, please drop an email to luis@ferreiras.co.za All traffic laws will be followed, most importantly red robots to keep us all together and with the car. Be safe, be vigilant, and look after each other out there.
  2. Also had one of these joyful incidents. Cedar and Uranium Roads, Fourways on Sunday 16 April, 6:30am. Silver Toyota Corolla, FY76BP GP Case No: 433/04/2023

  4. Unfortunately had one of these on Sun 16 April at 6:30 am. Leaving Fourways, corner Cedar & Uranium Roads. Silver Toyota Corolla, FY76BP GP. The car turned from Uranium into Cedar behind us as we were going up the hill. Just after the robot the guy who jumped out the car was on us and trying to pull phones out, pushing me over in the process before jumping back into the car and disappearing. Also been hearing of incidents further along Cedar going up the hill to the N14 bridge.
  5. Hi Guys Unfortunately, Luis was the not the seriously injured guy. Christo came down with him, and was the one with the serious injuries. He has bleeding on the brain but the doc says there is no need to operate and they are hoping the swelling will come down on its own. He also has a punctured lung, and a rather serious cut to his face, and is currently in ICU Hoping for the best for him.
  6. Could anyone explain to me why it is necessary to be a member of a club in order to get a licence. This doesnt seem to serve any functional purpose and simply costs me more money for no actual gain.
  7. The motorbike incident happened right in front of me. I was very lucky to not get hit as well. We were the last two people in the bunch and it was squeezed onto the wrong side of the road, and we were riding right on the pavement. So all things considered we were definitely wrong and just generally being idiots...but thats really what this silly business of elite racing is all about(idiots!!). We didnt even see the motorbikes coming. The first one came passed us off the road, riding in the long grass. But the second one was still on the road and we didnt really have any time to move out of the way, and as such a head on collision occurred. Glad to hear no one was too seriously hurt, hope to see you on the bike again soon.
