  1. Bikepacking.... Definitely... You might end up with a cool story like Joey...
  2. But with a couple of pool noodles, strapped together they are a lot more stable than on the back of a trailer..
  3. Alternatively invest in the Holdfast SA2018 as it connects to a plate that sits behind your existing towball, allowing you to tow trailers, caravans, etc. It sits proud so generally does not interfere with the turning circle of the trailer, but in some cases we have had customers utilise their drop plates (upwards) to give them piece of mind. https://www.holdfast.co.za/collections/all-bike-products/products/sa2018-4-bike
  4. Wheels Manufacturing (https://wheelsmfg.com/) pretty much makes copies of the majority of hangers out there, both new and old. Demetri your looks like hanger 312 and Ashchest yours looks like Hanger 149. Rush sports used to be the distributor for Wheels Manufacturing but it has been off their site for at least 6 months. I'm not sure who, if anyone has taken over the distributorship. Alternatively Demetri, your hanger is also used on Felt bikes and I see that there is a new agent for Felt in South Africa. https://www.bikehub.co.za/features/_/news/industry-news/black-marlin-reintroduce-felt-bicycles-into-south-africa-r7836 Ashchest, I'm almost convinced that I saw a similar hanger at Solomons in Woodmead. Perhaps give them a call and see.
  5. From the looks of it it could very well be this hanger: https://derailleurhanger.com/product/derailleur-hanger-63/ The hanger is found on certain Time and Vitus frames. I stand to be corrected but I don't think Vitus is available in this country but Time frames are brought in by J&J Cycling. Contact them on 012 807-5570 and see if maybe they can assist you. Alternatively you may need to have one manufactured by a company with a CNC machine.
  6. My wife goes to Professor Wing at the Donald Gordon Medical Center... He has been amazing at helping her...
  7. Generally the bolt is included in an original set of Hope pads. I'm sitting with the Hope sales rep and he suggests that you contact either The Bicycle Company or Epic Sports in Centurion, as they do carry original Hope products. I hope this helps.
  8. Any bike shop should be able to assist you or contact the distributor Rapha Bikes (Previously RFA Distributors) on 010 224-0414 or 082 460-5251
  9. Contact Ed or Jade @ Canvas & Aluminium on 011 613-2916 They have made customized covers for some of our clients.
  10. As a proud parent of two preemie children (29 and 34 weeks) the first week home was very stressful, but got better as the days went on. The months we spent in the NICU, we watched the nurses and how they handled the different situations and also learnt infant CPR incase it was needed. The key advise we got was that one parent needed to be rested as two tired minds would battle to make decisions in a case of an emergency. We stuck to the same routine that they had in the NICU (feeds, sleep and bath) as it minimized the stress of the change in environment. We use the Angel Care Monitors and they have been great. We opted to avoid the video option of these monitors as we would of spent our lives staring at the screen. You will eventually become immune to the beeping sound emitting from the monitor. Also remember to ensure that the mat is repositioned correctly when changing the linen as it can cause some heart in the throat moments when the alarm goes off. At the end of the day we trusted that all would be well, as the doctors and nurses would not let a child leave the hospital if they felt it was not ready. As I said to my wife during an emotional evening the night before our daughter came home, was that she had fought so hard to come home to us, why would she give up when she got there? On the day you finally leave the hospital, will be the best day ever.
  11. According to a mail I received from Easton this week, a new distributor has been appointed and they should be receiving their stock in the next month. They did not mention who the company is as yet.

  13. We are busy trying to source a couple for one of our suppliers over the same period, but with no success as yet, due to their specific requirements. From what I can see, most of the campervan/motor home rental companies are fully booked over that period. Your best bet would be to contact a guy by the name of Ben Barber at Tygerberg Caravans & Campworld, 021 982-4670, as they deal with customers who own campervans/motor homes and he may be able to put you in contact with a few of them. Good luck.
  14. I have one in stock but am JHB based...
  15. R500 from Cycle East paid. We challenge the other bike shops in JHB to donate as well, to help Wilson maintain these trails.
  16. Update as of 11h00. The owner of the car has been found but the driver is still at large. The owner has only been able to provide the EMPD with the drivers first name. The car has been taken away by EMPD and the owner was seen leaving in a EMPD vehicle.
