  1. afternoon sun seems to go down earlier now.
  2. My early morning ride
  3. Hi George I had crossmarks front and rear and upgraded to racing ralphs front and rear, i noticed a little more noise on tar but not much, they roll easier at high speed. I sent my rear wheel in for repairs and they gave me a loan rear wheel with a Rocket Ron tyre. i found my rear wheel sliding on roots and in the mud. Not happy with the Rocket Ron tyre at all. Go for Racing Ralphs all the way.
  4. If you havent gone tubless go NOW! To get a decent fork thats worth the upgrade can be pricey. I had a set of Maxxis Crossmarks with tubes on Stans Crest Rims 29er, they put a set of tubeless Racing Ralphs on. I saved 500 grams on the weight of my bike plus they have less rolling resistance. Tyre selection is really important, and I can attest to that using strava, Im beating all my personal bests. You probably have the standard Rapid Robs on your Giant XC 2 rims, the rapid robs are 680grams plus the weight of the tube, go for Racing ralphs át 485grams and look at a new wheel set. Then look at improving your contact points with the bike, pedals, seat, and handle bars, they can be cheap upgrades from as little as R100, but will only improve your experience!
  5. I agree with JXV, i had a similar problem on my previous bike, which was a GT, the front derailleur needed setting on the limit screws, and I removed two links from the chain and it never ever did it again until i sold the bike.
  6. When we did our Sea to George Peak trip, later in the planning we decided to try raise money for the SPCA. And whilst it was nice knowing we were doing for a good cause and they were grateful, others in the community gave us quite a bit of stick and there was alot of processes to follows afterwards. So id like not to do it for any finacial gain to any party. So i just want to get to the top to cross it off my bucketlist Il phone SANparks and let you know what they say.
  7. I was hoping that wasnt going to be the answer. Any reason as to why its not allowed?
  8. Hi Hubbers In august last year myself and 2 other guys were the first to cycle to the top of George Peak. It took us 10 1/2 hours but we did it. I was looking last night as to which mountain i can climb next and i was thinking why not cycle to the top of table mountain. So did some research and wasn't able to find any routes of guys that have done it before. Surely some hubbers have cycled to the top. I want to go to the Upper cable car and then have dinner with my family at the restaurant and get the cable car down. Possibly starting in camps bay. Does anyone have a map or photos or anything that can help me? i want to give it a shot in October.
