  1. Good news, but it just goes to show how we're getting ripped off from the start. Now if only Merida or Silverback would follow suit ...
  2. Hi Sheldon, I don't get out as much as I'd like, but if you're keen we can organise some rides. I know a couple noobs I can try to convince to come with, I just don't know of much riding in the area other than the sugar cane (license required) and Giba Gorge. Giba is a good option - www.gibagorge.co.za - I just don't know it very well. PM me your details and we'll take it from there.
  3. Sorry, don't have details - the bikes were on bidorbuy and by the time I turned around they were gone!
  4. I ride a large Trek - but I suspect I should be on medium.
  5. Might seem obvious, but I assume that the Slate is a better fork than the Dart 2?? Any feedback on this would be great! Update: Ok, I'm going to re-phrase this in the hopes of getting a response. Should I buy a RockShox Dart 2 (supposedly new) for R400, or a Manitou Slate 2nd hand for more or less the same price?beren2009-03-09 05:59:05
  6. I always thought I wanted to do the epic - and then one day I read the rules on their website. Not a chance would I support them! It was bad enough I paid my R250 sub for Duzi Mfula and they didn't even bother to change the riders details!
  7. I know someone who is selling one of each - the 700-D is a 16" and the 700-V is an 18". I am 1.76m tall - how do I know which one fits me better? I would really like the 700-D, but if I have to get the 700-V, will I be able to fit disc brakes to it at a later stage? And finally - is R3500 a reasonable price for a 2007 bike?
  8. I have been riding an entry level bike for a number of years now - a Trek 3700. Done some really cool races on it, but I want to start upgrading. Ideally I would love to get a new bike, but with 2 new additions to the family that just ain't gonna happen. So, the question is, what components should I start with? I'd really like to get a set of disc brakes, but maybe I should get derailleurs first? Any advice welcome!
