  5. Hi EDF, Thanks for your reply. It was the "Full" setup....or supposed to be according to the Salesman.
  6. Hey guys, I have a pair of Olympic MBT shoes, size 11 to give away to someone in need. Used but not in a bad condition. Let me know how to go about it. Andre
  7. HI Guys, Just a quick rant, I don't know if I am opening a can of worms here but anyway. I recently Purchased a "Entry level" Mountain bike from a shop in Pretoria. One of the "Sales Points" was, for my 7K that I spend on the bike, the will do a "full" setup for me on the bike. I bought the bike and exactly 5 minutes was spent on setting up the bike according to my build etc. I have been cycling like this for a while and have had some discomfort, and as such I went to, cyclelab in centurion and paid them to do a setup. I could not believe all the changes that they had to make, according to my measurements to get the bike setup properly. The entire setup took about 45 minutes and immediately I felt a difference on my first ride. It would seem like some shops out there do not go through the same trouble for a 7K bike as they would for someone spending 20k on a bike, which I find rather appalling, as I am sure (I stand corrected) that the "cheaper" market is the cash cows for many of those shops. Further to that, I will not go back there when I upgrade my Bike next year, not will my friend whom bought the same bike on the same day with the same "Setup" I understand one can do the setup yourself, but a noob like me, needs to initially rely on the "expertise" of the people who knows. Rant Out Andre
  8. Hey Uni, I got to Red barn Quite often. I love it there, as I have mentioned in another post there are egoistic cyclists there, other than that it's an awesome place. BTW their pizzas are the best in PTA! I know exactly what dirty sport you are referring to, I think the bad thing is that they do not have control of all that crap that washes down river, that said though, they could seriously get n few people to clean up their after a flood downstream. All in all very nice venue.
  9. Hi Guys, Myself and a friend are noobs in the world of Mountain biking. Many years ago I did quite a bit of Road cycling though. Something struck me the other day when we were cycling at the Red Barn. A much faster guy came flying past me on a "technical" bit, without announcing his intention. This caused me to almost hit a tree. No Apology nothing! It would seem like the some of the Faster Guys (Not everyone - because allot of guys do announce their intentions) just don't seem to care about the slower ones. From a roadie point of view, I have learnt to hold my line if someone announces, and I am also one of those guys that will move into the rough to let the quicker guys past if possible, so it is not a matter of me doing the wrong thing, I think there are a few guys that think they are bigger than the sport and lacks etiquette. Just my 2c worth. Keep peddaling :-0
