  1. Have a set of DT swiss XRC 1350 26" wheels. Rear rim is cracked. Front needs new nipples. Hubs are still good. 24h rear and 28h front Free collection in Randburg *Edit* Gone already Thanks all
  2. Looks integrated, unless the cups are already pressed into the frame? Ask him for pics of the headtube
  3. As there really wasn't any other option, I had to settle for the black swing arm.
  4. I spoke to the guys at BBT and it has been sorted out. Thanks for everybody's input and opinions. This has been resolved. Just to be clear my intention for this thread wasn't to drag the name of Ghost or the guys at BBT through the mud, it was mearly to see if it was acceptable and what the options were. As the title states I was just asking advice.
  5. Thanks again for the input guys. Yes I get it, you all would settle for the black and that is fine. My colour scheme is light though, silver rims etc so the chainstay would still be visible even with a slap sock. Saying that it doesn't look bad and that I should just accept it is like a panelbeater saying that they are out of white paint and that they are going to spray your car part black. Would you be happy with that? Sure it would make a unique but are you going to be happy with it? Not really a first world problem.
  6. Thanks for the input guys I appreciate it. Even though the black does not look too bad I prefer the look of the green and this is why I created this thread. Ultimately I am the customer and I should be happy with the product, I shouldn't have to settle.
  7. I recieved an email from BBT saying that they have the new swing arm and it has been fitted. Clearly they have no regard as to the what the customer wants, as it has been made clear that I don't want a black swing arm!
  8. Thanks for the input guys. Yes I dealt with BBT directly. Yes that is right by the front derailleur cable guide mount. I have had it for 18 months now. I agree that the different colors of frame and swing arm are not acceptable.
  9. I am the proud owner of a Ghost AMR 5700 which was purchased in May of 2012. I recently discovered a crack in the lower swing arm while washing the bike. Subsequently, I contacted the agents and started the warranty process. In the first couple of emails exchanged, it was said that 9/10 times the whole frame would be replaced as the serial number is linked to the whole frame and not just the swing arm. I therefore didn't expect the whole frame to be replaced and was pleased as I thought they would only replace the swing arm. Later I was informed that only the swing arm was going to be replaced which was fine by me but they stated it was going to be a black one and not green as the one it's replacing. This is not acceptable to me. I therefore asked for them to either have the new arm sprayed green at their expense, so it would match my frame or have the whole frame replaced. Their response was that they would not replace the frame and ignored my suggestion to have the swing arm painted. Where do I go from here? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
  10. here is an article op pinkbike about gearboxes vs. derailleurs which is a good read. http://www.pinkbike....nally-Dead.html Or if you are a bit lazy and don't want to read here is a video explaining why derailleurs are still used instead of gearboxes. http://www.redbull.c...l-s-in-the-dirt
  11. hahaha no I'd have to be a lot smaller to fit on his I ordered a new one in a medium
  12. Just got the frame today Will be my new do-it-all play bike. Planned changes are some black bars and a 140mm fork some time later on (it has a 120mm reba on atm). It is a BFe btw
  13. They are the best in the winter because they keep your feet nice and hot but unfortunately as mentioned, they do not ventilate well so in the summer they do tend to be a bit hot. They are quite broad, I have to run my cleats on the outer extremes so that I don't get crank and shoe rub. The shoes are also heavy compared to and xc shoe but it is not really noticeable when riding. One great thing about the AM45's are that they cover up over your ankles on the inside so that if you happen to whack your ankle on the frame or crank you are protected. Over all these are very good shoes and I would recommend them to anybody looking for an alternative to xc shoes. I have had my set for almost a year now and there are no signs of rips or separation anywhere. They are well worth the price
  14. hahaha I was surprised to hear that you are still using them
