  1. Email sent. Two comments. 1: Everyone needs to take the 2 minutes required to respond to the proposal 2: If/when it is passed. Use it responsibly, then we will get more places to ride
  2. My 5c. The call would help "Hey buddy we checked your tyres the low on sealant want us to top it up?" Now I am real boring and only use Stans. I might be lazy and say "you going to top up with stans sure, or no, thanks i will sort it out at home" i dont want to mix sealants. I know whats in my tyre and that's all i want in my tyre.
  3. Thanks everyone I saw a snake on Hoogekraal. It was brown and was a snake, I did stop to ask what type he was. Having read this thread, I am selling a well used Giant mountain bike, looking for a road bike.
  4. Dont worry my legs are VERY used to "portage". Every big hill I find (especially at the end of a race) I make an effort to train this skill!!!!!
  5. I dont need too much from a bike shop. The the following 3 items are absolutely critical: Communication, tell me whats going on, get back to me Follow through on promises, if you say the bike will be ready at 2, make sure is ready at two. I understand things go wrong and sometimes you cant get it done, but then see line above Don't screw me over, we set you this that or the next thing cos it would only cost R200, see the top line, communicate, if you think I need major work done or something replaced give me a call. And adding stans to my wheels freaks me out. What if i was running some other sealant in the tyres. Just my 2c
  6. I am a saddle bag man. I saw that dude in america that broke his back from the shock pump in his camel back (real unlucky sure) and so dont carry hard stuff in my jersey. Dont like the weight in my shirt either. Also my bike is always packed and ready to go, I am sure I would always forget something if i have to put it in the shirt!!! My 2c!!

That made a picture in my mind and my head exploded!!!
  8. I think helping out is one of the special things about mountain biking. Unfortunately there are some that will take advantage but i think for the most part it "we all out here enjoying the mountain together"
  9. if you can make the trip Oakvalley and Paul Cluver are AWESOME
  10. Those things need to be banned!!! That or any riders with that hub are not allowed to free wheel!!! Not to hijack, but does all that noise make the hub any better?!!!!!
  11. This is frightening. I think those firefighters must be knackered and it seems that the airtime they are getting in the news is reducing as the public are "warn out" of supporting. These guys still need support in food etc etc. Where do you think the best place to donate is? eft etc or maybe a drop off point fo food supplies etc. I am in Durbanville. Thanks for all the info by the way, I am finding this forum the best place to keep up to date.
  12. Can you imagine all of the southern suburbs coming to Tygervalley. Poor Patrick is going to have his work cut out for him trying to maintain the trails with that much traffic!!!!
  13. I suspect running this CTCT is going to be no cheaper than the full 109, perhaps even more expensive as they are going to pay a premium for last minute services. But, and maybe they will get to it, they will not need as many water tables and the riders will not use as much drinks etc, I hope that all the excess can be given to people that need the powerades, waters, bananas etc etc. Time will tell. Those firefighters still have a long week or two ahead of them, never mind the next month of fire season. I am sure they are always in need of drinks etc. my 2c
