  1. Hi guys. I have a 1980's Peugeot frame that's 58cm big. According to all charts I should be riding a 54cm bicycle. Would anyone be interested in swopping a similar condition/age/type frame with me? I want to get the bicycle sprayed but would like to see if I can get a proper size frame first. If you want to see the frame I've got some photos on the site from when I started getting components together.
  2. Eppie. That would be awesome, thanks. The only picture I have as a clue is from this bicycle: http://velospace.org/node/15906 Its the same frame, but I wish mine was in same condition Could I meet up with you somewhere?
  3. Does anyone know of a bike shop (table view/brackenfell areas) that would sell a seat post bolt for my 1980 Peugeot road bike? None of the shops I've gone to have them.
  4. Finally figured it out. There she stands as she is today.
  5. Flowta. I would appreciate it. What I mean with the shimano compatable is simply that I have shimano parts (chain, deraileirs ect.), so would prefer having a shimano crank set in front too. Failing that something that would work well with the shimano chain (and other parts.). Im not too clued up on inter-brand compatability when it comes to cranks and chain rings)
  6. I'm struggling to upload pictures of the Peugeot bicycle I'm building for my dayly compute. That said, does anyone in the Cape have a shimano compatable crankset for sale? That and/or aero type brake levers?
  7. Just curious here. How many bikes do you guys own?
  8. What process did you use to paint the bike? Normal cans of paint (lol) or a bit more sophisticated?
  9. Hi guys. I got myself a wheelset with a 7 speed shimano cassette on. Does anyone in the Cape perhaps have a cheap rear derailler I can buy? (actually need a front too, but don't have a crankset yet either) Edit: like a chop I didn't say it's for a road bicycle. Edit 2: Would this work for me or should I stay away from ebay's components? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shimano-Tourney-TX35-6-7-Speed-Rear-Derailleur-Direct-Attach-/191091626980?pt=US_Derailleurs_Rear&hash=item2c7df2d3e4
  10. Thanks Loose Cog, but I know of that page, in fact, was double checking that my frame takes 700c wheels on that page this afternoon after a bike shop told me it takes old steel rims (which made me very unhappy). The question is more, "is the peugeot frames comparable to the others mentioned in this thread", since I never saw any mention of the brand on over 174 pages.
  11. I have to ask. How does a Peugeot CFX-10 frame compare to the Bianchis, Alans and Colnagos? (Don't be too harsh please )
  12. divernick. I currently have a thread on a CFX-10 rebuild I'd like to do for a dayly commuter. I can use some of those parts on that frame, or even use the frame for the build if it's closer to 54cm size than the current 58cm frame I have. I'm still looking for ALL the components as I only have a frame with fork currently. Are you looking to sell the frame or giving it away?
  13. Hi guys. I'm planning on building a daily commuter with a vintage Peugeot CFX-10 Frame. I've found a set of second hand Alex RL2002 wheels online for R500. Do you think this will work for me?
