  1. if its a 44mm internal bearing and cup or zero stack 44 headset then get a hope h-cup for the bottom. have been running a tapered carbon fork in my frame like that. but have since gone back to a straight steerer bouncy fork with a 1.5 adapter and have left to h-cup in place on the bike for when i upgrade
  2. Replaceable bearings instead of the whole bb......win. Better quality and loads of different types to sort the crank compatibility problems. screw together pf30 bearings and machined aluminum cups. Just all round a better buy in the long run. Running them on two different bike and won't go back to sram or shimano again for a bb
  3. Just for giggles, I will put the pic of the stp up....
  4. Not Much but here's my one baby. Silverback Sierra Medium Frame Rockshox Tora 130mm Forks Funn 45mm stem Spank 760 flat bars Raceface 175mm cranks Zee 1x 10 speed groupset Mavic Crossride wheels with bontrager xr1 rubber...although those tyres will go soon WTB Volt saddle just need to fit the narrow wide and the frame is getting a sweet new paint job and going back to flats
  5. yeah cerakote is done at 180 degrees for metal parts or they do a cold dip process which takes about 24hrs between cotes( used on wood and plastic parts for firearms etc). if the nipple reinforcements can be removed from the rims before anno then great. just check that the rivets holding the rims joint together are not steel then you are good. there are various options to work with but the gunkote idea was exactly that...just my 2c in the plentiful options you have available. you would need to fully strip the wheels and possibly beadblast previous finishes off it or do a high mirror polish to depending on if you want a matt or gloss finish for anno. and then new stickers on. a clear cote would help protect the anno and stickers from light scratches and bumps and keep the finish looking pucker. but at a little extra weight, it would be worth it for the purdiness in the long run IMO. but as i say....control surface treatments and speak to Darren. he is very knowledgeable on the different processes you could look at as they do all types of coatings and platings
  6. anodizing could be a prob if the have steel nipple reinforcements and possibly the rivets holding the rims together if they are steel. as the process eats steel like a 5year old with free reign on a box of smarties. if you looking to change colours etc. get hold of control surface treatment in benoni area. ask for Darren They do a process called gunkote. Same stuff the military weapons are coated with to make them super hard and long lasting and they have a huge range of colours. they also can annodize for you and can give you advice on if the rims can be done cause of the steel if there is.
  7. EL paso leather in magaliesburg or fashion trims in maboneng precint on fox street el paso make all different types of belts and guns holsters etc. and fashion trims make up belts bags etc
  8. so if you have a look the sweet 2:1 ratio of 32/16 on a 26er will be a 32/17 or 34/18 on a 650b and a 32/18 on the 29er for roughly the same distance
  9. this is something i put together to work out gears etc on an SS with diff wheel size options. makes it a bit easier if you have a more than one SS with diff wheel sizes
  10. little something i built up to help with gears and wheel size
  11. Hey guys so i spent a bit of time and worked out a few bits with a formula and here is the result. its basically an idea of how far you would travel on one full rotation of your cranks using different gear setups and how to find that sweet spot between the 3 diff tyre sizes if you own more than one fixie. Might be a bit helpful or not
  12. haha yes rare in the fact that a methanol was being ridden up a hill and not being pushed over a pebble on a flat immaculate parking lot by a wanna be weekend warrior that thinks the egotism, elitist snobbery and arrogance that has given roadies such a bad name belongs in the bush.....
  13. Has anyone thought of the fact that he was wearing W2W gear....rare bike....super vets cat in W2W...check the results of W2W and report him to TMNP....but then again the screaming of getting banned on the mountain may just be heard from here on the spruit....
  14. Hello fellow hubbers, I am looking at upgrading my wheels and hopefully being able to shed about a kilo off the weight of the bike. The 2 options I am looking at are the novatec/frm custom wheelset from evo bikes or the edge xlr29 wheelset from tri-cycles. Given that I can't afford any more than the novas. Which would you guys suggest? Or is there another choice of ten I should look at?
