  1. My daughter was being bitten by one of these smallish dogs that had attached itself to her calf. She was crying and looked like she was going to fall off, I was slightly behind, so I rode over the dog. A bit extreme and I was sorry afterwards, but you react in the heat of the moment....
  2. Well done! Like there was no pressure.... Their first game was great. That little goalie is fantastic. I take back all the k@k things I have said about them
  3. I ride bikes and motorcycles. I have found that there are lunatics doing both - BUT - the majority of guys that I meet or ride with are Gents. We need to look out for each other - we are both very vulnerable to cars, taxis trucks etc. It's very sad to hear about this accident and I really hope everyone heals up quickly and gets back on their bikes
  4. I think that the bottom line is that you need to always be aware of the vehicle's limitations. These SUV's have a widespread following and are probably very good value for money for families that cannot afford a new Prado etc. The problem is that the motor manufacturers get led by the nose. they tend to try and build cars that we want - often ignoring the compromises involved. What is the top end "highway" speed of a Fortuner? Over 160? Well that's too fast for something so tall and top heavy. Now most sensible people will realise that the car is actually a bit too fast for it's own good - but then you get a bunch who reckon that if it's built to go that fast then they will be fine - stability control will save them. I drove an S66 AMG Merc on Swartkops a couple of years ago. The electronics in this thing are breathtaking. You can drive like a total **** and the car takes care of everything. You can streak around the track - hit the brakes as hard as possible at the end of the straight and just turn. It corners like a go cart. This got me thinking though. After I get used to this, then put me in a car without all this stuff and I am going to crash pretty soon. The other thing is that all the other road users don't have this magic so they are not going to play this game with me in a life or death situation?
  5. Jeez guys... Is it really that bad? My experience on the classifieds have all been good. If I go to view something - especially if it's far away, I take notes. Then if I like it I buy it. By then the oke cant change his mind and the notes help his uncertainty. It's all a game....
  6. Looks like a fortuner? They appear to be referring to the 2010 460GX only though. Maybe it's only this one that has the problem. How do you fit stability control to a chassis that is based on a Hilux?
  7. I have bought numerous bits on the hub without even a hint of a problem. I do check their "status" though. I feel pretty comfortable with someone who has been around for a while. I read their previous posts. The ultimate hubbers are known by a lot of other hubbers by now? I would be nervous to transact with a rookie who has 2 posts? I don't believe that it's up to the site to control this.
  8. Hey Dirtrider! Lawyer's letter is on the way! Slagging plumbers and bad spelling is not going to be tolerated!!
  9. Wow - slow down a bit! Stop the bus! You are playing into the hands of radicals on both sides. there are a number of things that smell suspect at this time- - They called the cops - Chris Hani's death over Easter. - Malema in Zim - Unusual reaction from the cops and JZ. This may mean something or it may mean nothing. Lets wait a bit before we get swept up in these theories and cause more k@k than there already is.
  10. Ja Peloton - good summary. Thought provoking Maybe we should start a drive to stop the racist colonials from coming?
  11. I don't think that we have 10 pages because it was ET - "of the AWB" I think that you have 10 pages because he was "ET the boer". He was not that popular - even with the Afrikaaners, but killing him was an assault on "boere"?
  12. Has anyone noticed how this has detracted from our brother Julius's rantings in Zimbabwe? Now that is even more cause for panic
  13. Absolutely not in vain. If it had collapsed then, we would be worse off than Zim now. The hard part today is to stop this from happening - lets not screw it up now.
  14. De La Rey was an honorable man who did not preach extermination. So what now? Lets face it, most white South Africans are not dumb enough to rise up and cause mayhem. We don't generally throw rocks or burn tires. We moan a lot. The big problem that I see is that the country could indeed be on a tipping point and the current leaders have actively assisted it to get there. All it takes is one more farm murder next week. Or - someone says "I murdered the farmer" because it's no longer a crime - JM said it's OK. That's all it takes for really big k@k to break out? But will it? I wonder what the okes that are coming for the soccer think about all this? It all seems to go back to stupidity at the top? Did they not manage to grasp that this was the ultimate outcome of their actions? Do they give a rats ass? Makes you wonder.
