  1. Is anyone looking for a rider to take part. I was on a podium team last year but I'm happy to ride at any pace a team wants to do. Just looking for a ride.
  2. Letape South Africa.. a meeting was held this afternoon at 4pm with Mike Bradley (CSA) and Kelvin du Sart (KZN Road Com) and the Race Organiser's to discuss the above event regarding documentation. The organizers have asked for an indefinite postponement of the event. CSA will issue a statement.
  3. I'm now beginning to think that this whole L'Étape thing is a huge scam. The organizers seem to have absconded and are not answering any queries. Scant communication seems to be he order of the day. Feeling annoyed.
  4. I was in that race and in the break. A more honest report might read A Mylo attack split the field and then carried Kargo to a win. Fair dues to Brendon Davids to bridge across, but that was kind of the sum total of it. When the vets are having to tell the guys to lift the pace you know you ain't exactly riding like Team Sky. But as Donovan said it's "a press release", and press releases aren't too concerned about letting facts get in the way of a good story.
  5. To do a sub 5:30 at the DC requires a solid team effort. You cannot expect to just average 37.5kph on the flats sucking a wheel and think that that's gonna do it. The hills and climbs will eat into your time, as well as issues such as passing, congestion etc. You missed it by 5 minutes. If you analyze it truthfully you'll see where you lost those 5 minutes. As for guys who fall off the back when they know that they signed up for 6 over in a sub 5:30. Man up or train harder.
  6. We are 2 riders looking for a ride at DC. Both capable of a 5:20-5:30. Anybody short of a few team members?
  7. She said, I did, they said, I didn't, they did, blah blah blah. Same old song, different tune. Deny, deny, deny. So over it.
  8. It is a Sphynx. They go for between R8k and R10k.
  9. 6 of us rode beside the front 3 males, and the front 3 females. We each had transponders on our bikes to allow 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place to be tracked by the organizers.
  10. What a cop-out. That is tantamount to saying, "What do you see when you come home and find your house ransacked, and all your possessions stolen? Do you see a burglar, or do you see his anxious wife, who's sitting at home worrying that he'll be caught?"
  11. Ok. We completed our second DTCC (Double Triple Cycle Challenge)last weekend. On Saturday and Sunday 31 cyclists rode from Nigel to Durban to raise funds for The Red Cap Foundation. Again, it was two days of big miles, doing 345km on day one alone. Having a headwind for 70% of our time, and getting an occasional rain shower failed to dampen the spirits though. Mr Price KZN provided the back-up, and did an outstanding job again. Included in the bunch were, 2 guys on Mountain bikes, 3 ladies, and one newbie cyclist of 112kg
