  1. Not sure what they are worth. Experts please help? Some had Columbus SL tubing like mine, and other more expensive and lighter Columbus SLX tubing.
  2. It is a Bianchi Mondiale. I have a similar model. Could be end 80's beginning 90's.
  3. Hallo I have an 1987 onwards Bianchi Mondiale with Columbus SL tubing. It is a size 59 frame in Bianchi Celeste. As far as I know, it was shod with Shimano 600 tricolour groupset, of which the Biopace crankset is still on the bike. It now is fitted with Ultegra hubs, brake calipers, frt and rear derailleur with 9 speed.casette. I took off the badly worn Ultegra STIs and replaced them with period 105 brake levers. The shifter lever that I could find was period Suntour units of an old Peugeot bike. I have Gipiemme Techno rims laced to the Ultegra hubs. Seat by Selle Italia - and Cinelli handlebars.
  4. Playing around with more than one bike at a time. I have had a white Silverback Oakland for quite a while now. It is in very good condition (read never really seen singletrack yet) and so I have been upgrading it. I have fitted a 9 speed XT cassette and 9 speed XT rear derailleur with XT shifters, all parts bought on the Hub. My question though: it seems the 8 speed chain is compatible with the 9 speed casette! There is no fouling issues at all! Anybody else experienced thus as well?
  5. You can't use the 26er frame V-brake pins to accommodate 29er rims. Either relocate the v-brake pins (pain in the gazoo) or use disc brakes.
  6. Oops forgot! It is a 26er frame. And alloy.
  7. I am busy with a Schwinn Mesa large frame which is slower but surely morphing into a CX. I have 29er Alexrims and so far so good. I have a steel 26er solid fork, Silverback stem and alloy road bike handlebar with Shimano 105 Shifters. Rear derailleur is planned to be Tiagra and I have a 9 speed XT casette. I also need tyres and have ordered 700 x 35C units from my favourite Bike Shop.
