  1. Cervelo P5 or Specialized Shiv!!
  2. Definitely the 404's. You will not find a lighter and better quality wheel on the market....Except if you are prepared to pay R35000+ and buy the Lightweight Wheels!
  3. I had a Garmin 305 and has switched to the 705. In my view this is the best product on the market to get if you are a cyclist and something you should have on your bike! You can also pair the 705 with some of the power meters like the new Wireless SRM Units. The basic functions of the 705 is much the same as the 305 but there are ALOT of new goodies that will give you endless hours of fun on the bike!!
  4. Tomorrow morning they are doing a 7km TT. Mostly uphill!! http://www.cycletournz.com/Portals/1/TT%20profile%202008.JPG And in the afternoon there is the final stage a Criterium of 35km or 1hour. The same thing as the first stage!!
  5. Nothing interesting happended in the stage today.....Cherise and Lynette crashed but all seems ok! 6. Stage 4 looks like this: 120km Stage. It is a circuit race again with a very nasty climb in the route......This is going to hurt after a couple of times up that climb!! http://www.cycletournz.com/Portals/1/Miramar%20stage%20profile.JPG

  8. I do not think that our very unpopular friend has EVER raced against these girls! Dude(Or Girl)I HAVE raced against these girls in the past and HAVE gotten my ass kicked by them.....If you think they look tough on photo's.....Try race against them in real life! Our girls are seriously trying their best there and to get a top 10 placing on any of those stages are FANTASTIC!! Those girls are like machines on their bikes but our girls are holding there own and sitting comfortably in the TOP half of the GC. Do not get me wrong....We have alot to do before we will be on a level to get a podium or win but with dedication and the right planning we have the ability in this country to actually achieve those goals. I support them 100% and know they can get there in the near future.... Ok, genoeg gemoan.....Will post the results as soon as they are available!!

  12. I think they will be back on 3 March. If I remember correctly. The tour starts tomorrow 27 Feb. Will try to keep you up to date on how the girls are doing over there.
  13. Very Sad that some people just doesn't see (or just doesn't want to see) the bigger picture in terms of where ladies cycling is going!! I have been cycling professionally in South Africa for 11 years now and everyone will agree that the standard has improved by leaps and bounds. I can honestly say that this is the stongest the top ladies has been since I started cycling and if we keep improving at the same rate we will be up with the world standard in the near future. I think the girls that is in NZ at the moment has a great chance to show their legs and form and all of us will be cheering them on. GO GIRLS!!!!
  14. Hi guys, <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I would like to explain what happenend in the race on the weekend for this thread to stop. Me and Lizette (my team-mate) were dropped about 2km into the climb as the girls sprinted for the Queen of the Mountains Prime. We then got together and started chasing like hell as we were the defending champs of the race and it would have made our team-tactics even better if we had 4 girls in the break-away group. Around 1km before we caught the leading group a bunch of about 6 guys caught up with us. 3 of them went up the road and the other guys stayed behind us on Lizette's wheel as I was pacing infront to get us back. As we caught the cars the 3 guys that was upfront sat up as they were not able or allowed to pass the ladies (don't know what happenend excately as we were chasing so hard). As we passed the last 2 cars in the convoi we caught the 3 guys. I passed them on the left and Lizette passed them on the right. Some of the team-managers then went to the race commissiare and claimed that we chased back with the men. He then decided to disqualify us on the info the team-managers gave him and not on his own observaiton of us sitting any guys wheel. (Which we did not do!!) He first asked us to only sit at the back of the break-away group and not interfere in the race. About 3km later he asked us to drop completely of the back of the leading group. Me and Lizette then decided to rather retire from the race as there were no point in completing the race. After the finish our team-manager appealed the disqualifications with the chief-commissaire Gotti Hansen. The officials had a meeting and decided that the decision by the commissaire were the wrong one and the decision was reversed. Luckily this cleared our names but did not bring back the oppurtunity to sprint for a place at the finish. I would like to thank and congratulate Cycling South Africa for admitting making a wrong decision and reversing the decision. The reason I did not mention this in my article is because it was a unfortunate incident that happened in the race. The situation was cleared up at the prize-giving and I do not believe in washing dirty laundry in public. I would also like to ask all the hubbers to please stop accusing people of being me. If I have something to say I will do so in my own name ? I will not use a cowardly alias to do so. People who know me, in person, will know that I say what I want people to know and take responsibily for that. Engela Conradie2007-04-24 03:25:46
  15. Sorry guys for being so slow to respond to the thread.....you must remember I'm blond and we will have to blame that for the reason I am only responding now I am not going to say or defend my article in any way as I think facts don't lie and no one was treated unfairly!! What I would say is thanks to all the hubbers for the interest you show in woman cycling....You do a lot in helping our cause to give advertising to our sport and get people interested.....I hope you will follow the ladies racing so closely as you have done thus far for the rest of the season.... O ja, en ek sal meer gereeld vir julle kom kuier hier op die hub in die toekoms....
