  1. At least Lance is doing something for the cancer foundation! 'promote cancer awareness'. And these appearance fees' date=' even though they have come from various sources, and just race organisers, have not made their way to the charity. If he's not doing it for money, he's going about it in a strange way. Does Armstrong "Deserve" to make money from his "Charity". No one "deserves" anything. Being upfront and graciously accepting donations is one thing . . . but using the money to make a business in disguise is another. We're free to believe in fairy tales all we wish. . . and Armstrong can make as much as he can from this venture. What are people getting in return? Hope? Hope for what? Hope for something better? Hope for the tooth fairy? I've been there. . . hoping for something better because life in the present moment is pure hell! I learned "hope" is a blindfold that blinds us from the truth of the here and now. It's like whistling down a dark alley at night and "hoping" not to get eaten by a monster. The reality of it is you're just walking down an alley. .. . and there is nothing to fear in this life. Is that what "Livestrong" is selling? So tricking people into giving to a charity while he uses the brand that is built to put money into his own pockets is considered smart now? Armstrong is a scumbag. Anyone with a ounce of integrity would name their for profit operation differently than the non-profit one so there would be no confusion. That it was not named differently shows intent. All ad revenue for Livestrong.com goes to Demand Media, which was set up by a notorious purveyor of spyware and funded by venture capitalists. Before the global meltdown, Demand Media had plans to go public. The people enriched would have been the CEO, Richard Rosenblatt, a bunch of VCs, and Armstrong. Strangely enough, Rosenblatt, CEO of Demand Media, also sits on the board of directors of FRS. http://www.ruderfinn.co.uk/blogs/dotcom/files/2009/06/enviromental-head-in-the-sand.jpg[/quote'] Your point of view maybe!
  2. No it is here say from an editor of a bicycle magazine. Well then we can not dis Lance for that as until confirmed....he is still innocent. Then again, after 7 tour wins he should be able to demand what he want...he is famous after all... Maybe Contador can do the same in 5 years time?
  3. The guy is like a frign sponge. He wants money to be seen anywhere. Are times that tough for the mofo?? Like I dont believe he will bring in more spectators cause its not like the spectator points are good anyway. Speculation???
  4. No but I bet he knows how to win on one... I don't see Contador entering the Epic? And I have not heard of him winning ANY MTB races??? At least Lance is doing something for the cancer foundation! And Contador or doing what again? O yes he only rides the skinny wheels
  5. I wonder if Contador knows how to ride a MTB???
  6. Lets also moan about the taxi's, busses and 4x4 owners...they act like THEY own the road....so what we are all saying is that it is a waste of time to argue this...EVERYONE thinks they own the road....
  7. have you neve, when your girlfriend fought with you, screamed at the cat?at work, people used to complain to me about cyclists behaving badly (cos they know i cycle) ... some of them quite aggressive, demanding from me reasons why other cyclists do what they do - i've since made it very clear that i'm a mountain biker and don't cycle on roads - i understand about south africa's drivers being angry and all, but it doesn't help angering them more ... and i dont mean riding in the middle of the road when it's unsafe, i mean incidents like the one that sparked this thread. I have a solution to your work people, when they ask you why do cyclist do this and that etc...ask THEM why do their fellow motorist / parents allow their kids to stand on the front seat???
  8. Ageros, we live in Africa....as much as I used to like that approach and used shout at people NOT strapping their kids in, I have since decided....NOT my problem...
  9. Yea, out of popcorn and now I am bored...
  10. No, man...what I mean is that if old people can drive as 30 so can I, in my car or on my bike?
