Hi there, I have a Tora 302 U-turn that came standard on my GT Avalanche. I can only say nice things about it: strong, stiff and utterly reliable. Do some mild downhilling with it, small dirt jumps, cross country racing, and it takes it all in it's stride. The variable travel is by far it's best feature, set it on it's shortest for climbing, and extend as necessary for the rest. My old Raleigh had a Suntour - and it was terrible! I guess the biggest disadvantage the Tora has is it's weight. But all things considered, I think it's a wonderful 'budget' shock. Do it!
