  1. Thought: Maybe some of those ebike riders want to relive the old glory days of a sub 3 Argus 10 years back Solution: Maybe they should start where the elite woman racing start with the shorter distance? But if the elite men catch them it will be chaotic There is more than a few problems, and solutions, but I do think looking at most of the pictures form our robo-racers that most of them don't have the bike skills or group riding skills that go along with the speed they are riding. The category of "E-Bike" needs to be enjoyed, not raced. Otherwise they need to put those kwaai PPA ooms on an E-bike and they must pace the E-bike group to the stated rules like a flock of sheep.
  2. Kudos on the Ironman and comarades. What a great idea. Think I'll give it a try
  3. Yes I'm aware, have done it twice as well, but it was before I had the fenix. Actually just interested if it will last HR and tracking wise the whole duration.
  4. So I have been riding with my Garmin Fenix 3HR for some nearly 2 years and have recently purchased a chest strap for more accurate HR data. I haven't used the navigation much, other than a local training ride with waypoints and turn by turn navigation. The battery drop seems reasonable. But we are training for the Trans Baviaans this year, and I was wondering if anyone has experience with the battery life of a Garmin Fenix watch (preferably a Fenix 3HR) using it for navigation and HR data during the event. Since it is a long event and battery on the watch is limited. Lets say we are aiming for anything below 15 hours to be safe battery wise. I have tried the Ultra Track mode, but I found this to be pointless, since it is not very accurate. I would rather ride without than have data that's misleading.
  5. I assume that's your rating from 1-6? Thanks again for your insights. When you have time, search the Kenda Booster Pro tyres. Quite similar to the Maxxis Rekon Race pattern.
  6. Thanks for the in-depth reply. Haven't seen a lot of people selling the Pirelli's yet? Did look at them at the Argus Expo though. I like to do my research before a purchase and finding a tyre combo is mostly a personal taste and feel for most. Thing is, tyres are not cheap, so would like to buy a pair/combo working up to the Trans Baviaans (but not solely just for those conditions, since training would consist of a mixed bag of terrain).
  7. That's my plan to get them for front and rear. Currently I'm riding Schwalbe Racing Ralphs front and rear and didn't like them so much, UNTIL I started playing with my tyre pressure. Its amazing to see the PR's on Strava segments just by lowering the pressure a bit whilst riding the same effort as before.
  8. Does anybody have experience with the Vittoria Mezcal tyres? I have heard any great testimonies about people riding Vittoria tyres, claiming that they are quite fast and last quite long. Looking to buy a pair. Also considering the new Kenda Booster Pro's
  9. I had a similar experiece with my power saddle, hence why I'm selling it now. I was also looking at the Phenom, what is your experience with it? I was also thinking of maby trying the Power Arc witch is slightly more rounded.
  10. she looks like she might be a few years his senior
