  1. I'm traveling to the bustling metropolis of Upington soon for 10 days or so, and want to bring my MTB along to keep riding. Are there any nice trails or gravel roads along the river one can ride?
  2. Does anyone have American Classic parts manuals? Their website is no longer working. I would like to determine the sizes for the wheel bearings on my MTB hubs, rear wheel needs new bearings. Thanks.
  3. Thanks, once I realised the fundamental difference I thought it might become an much bigger excercise than anticipated. I swopped my slick tyres out for MTB tyres over the weekend, and that in itself has brought about a softer ride due to the bigger sidewalls, I can at least keep up with the kids at this stage, but it would be nice to get something better once I would like to start riding more advanced/longer routes. Thanks again for all the advice.
  4. Just to add: the steerer on my bike is still the threaded type, so I guess it will be shorter than the threadless.
  5. Thank you so much for the offer! I've measured the steerer, length seems to be about 165/170mm, outside diameter looks like 28mm.
  6. I've got a 10 year old Marvel 26" that CWC brought in for the security patrols years ago with no suspension on the front, looking to either upgrade the front to suspension, or get a new bike. There is nothing wrong with my bike, it has not been used that much, mostly for road use cycling from work for a while years ago and to the local park with the kids at the moment. The kids are getting MTBs to ride some of the beautiful trails on the nearby winefarms so I thought its a good time to get suspension on my bike. My bike has V brakes, what options do I have in terms of suspension on my bike? I was thinking about spending around R1k, is it realistic? Bear in mind I'm not a serious off road ride, it's more to ride with the kids at this stage.
  7. Hi all, I've been riding a bicycle for 35+ years on and off, now looking to get the kids some MTBs and upgrade my own MTB to a front suspension, the solid suspension causes blurry vision
